I've had a storage unit here for many years and just recently upgraded to a much larger space. It's convenient, clean, feels secure (as a single woman, that's important to me as it can often be pretty desolate up there) and the staff is incredibly friendly. We've been renting storage space from Claudia for years. She is wonderful! Friendly, helpful, smart, patient...and always remembers us. She has helped us change units and finds us exactly what we are looking for. The location is great, the facility is clean and well kept, secure, and the prices are more than reasonable, especially when you look at other storage companies' facilities and amenities. I strongly recommend ESS Four Mile Run, and am grateful that Claudia is there!

We rented a 10x10 indoor climate-controlled unit. The elevators are large, the place is secure, and things seemed clean and well-kept. Jessica in the office was extremely helpful and answered our questions and handled things so quickly and efficiently that it was over in only a few minutes. Parking is limited, but there are 3 standard loading docks available to be used at the same time.

I had a great experience with this Extra Space storage location. It was a bad and unexpected situation that made us need to use a couple of storage lockers. Claudia was very helpful and knowledgeable and managed to ease some of our stress. My parents were very impressed with how clean the facility was. Carts were always available. I had absolutely no issues and would definitely use this facility again.

This review is for the office only - I am not using their facilities. Last week I came here to look at some options for storage - my fiance and I have moved in together and not only have to fit two different homes into one tiny apartment in Alexandria, but the gifts from the wedding registries are coming in and we're just completely out of space. Had a unit in Extra Space for almost two whole years. They always billed on time, always had a staff person to help me (when I always forgot my code to get in the building after hours), and helped me figure out my pro-rated billing when I left. Very clean and climate controlled.

While I have no issues with the management of the location that I use, I wanted to mention a rather bizarre pricing practices. They keep increasing rates (and I am told that this is done centrally, not locally) while advertising similar units at much lower prices. So what I end up doing is periodically moving from one unit to another to secure new, lower price. That is fine when you have a small unit, but can be a hassle when it is a big one.
