I have had an extra storage space with this company for ALMOST 1 year and have had my rent raised TWICE in that time period. The contract allows them to make adjust ments and they do, at least every 6 months. So be prepared to pay more than you are actually renting the unit for. The increase has been around 10% each time. Their rates are a scam - they get you in at one price and then raise the rent sometime later

After reserving a deal online, I went there to see the unit, sign papers, and get keys. The place is clean and bright. Judy was polite. I was ready to check the "Get Storage Unit" item off my to-do list. Not so fast. At the end, they presented me with a fingerprint card. Wait. Come again?? Yes, they will make your fingerprints available to homeland security or law enforcement. As an attorney, I can tell you that this policy should raise huge privacy concerns. Our unit was also broken into and robbed as well. We had just gotten married and left many of our registry items in storage, sadly many of new items and generations old Christmas ornaments were all taken. They stepped on boxes of mementos with no care or concern at all. Extra Space should not mention "secure" anywhere in there advertisements, it is not secure, they boast of cameras they do not check and alarms that do nothing.
