Crooks. Rented a space with the web rate of about $23/month, but when I actually signed the contract it was $31/mo because they make you buy their insurance! Then within 4 months they raised it to $61/mo. I called them and they said it was an increase to the going rate and wouldn't lower it. I'm moving my stuff out! Crooks!

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I have used this storage unit over the last I think 4 years. When Rachel was there it was immaculate.... I moved out of a large storage unit into a new place and got a smaller unit for the boxes. Moving out I saw mice droppings which not only disgusted me, but it freaked me out. 1 I didn't move in with them. 2. I am praying that they didn't move into my place with me which will release a fury this company has never seen. 3. Unbelievable, there was construction work in the building and caused over $5,000 worth of damage. NO CONSIDERATION FROM MANAGEMENT! This is an organization that increases your monthly fees indiscriminately, yet offers no customer service. GO TO EAST BANK STORAGE! Their response below came way to late. This damage was caused in November. I approached Tony, the manager, twice to see if there was some type of consideration and his response is that is a corporate decision and he will elevate the issue - no response!

I agree with everyone's review over here. The price keeps on increasing. I had this unit storage for 1 year and a half but they kept on raising prices every 6 months (i.e. based on demand). I initially had a promo for 45 dollars with 10 bucks insurance and now I am asked to pay 75 bucks per month. I decided to move out of this unit and rented a one bedroom that accommodate the space needed. I also realized that there could be some possible homeless looking people renting the unit. We stored some things here for a few months before buying a larger home. In addition to some added up front fees, they have charged us even after we moved out. Paperwork is in hand that we are. I longer occupying a unit and we moved out. However, put credit card was charged 2 days later for another month! Called and was told I would receive a call back in 10 minute. Well, you know hat didn't happen. Now onto wasting time stalking them or dispute with my credit card company.

Ever since this location changed from Life Storage to Extra Space, it has gone down hill. The customer service is the absolute worst. Oh and they only ever have 1 person on premise at all times. So if you need something and the office person is on a facility, you have to wait outside the locked office doors! Oh and I just showed up today and the lady was at the bank. I am currently sitting in my car waiting for the office attendant to return. Extremely annoying. Will look to switch asap!

RENTER BEWARE! The two Extra Space Storage Reps, Rachel and Will, who I interacted with are very welcoming and polite.....with this being said, RENTER BEWARE! Without fail, after 6 months your rental price will increase! Rents will continue to increase at predetermined time frames (as per your Rental Agreement)...........kinda sucks! If anyone knows of a place in the South Loop area with more "stable" rent prices, please let me know! Gracias!

I was contacted by certified mail and told to respond within one week of receiving the letter that my storage unit was located where construction was about to begin and that I needed to relocate my belongings or have them auctioned. It is important to note that I was paid up, on time, every month and that was not an issue. We really regret getting a space at this facility for storing our records. FIrst, the rent increases are ridiculous - once they have you, you're either facing 15-20% rent increases regularly or you have to move your stuff out. Also, we received a letter dated 8/25/14 that stated we needed to move our contents to a new unit due to their construction plans. The letter was received via certified mail in our office on 9/2/14.
