I've been a customer for 1 year and they plan to price increase me twice. I understand the first 100% price increase was probably because of the promotional rate for when I signed up for service. Now they're going to price increase me by 34% stating market conditions are causing the "adjustment". There's no justification for a 34.6% price increase. You can't explain it using inflation, labor, maintenance, property tax, rent etc. There's no way that any combination of these things would add up to a 34.6% increase in my rate. ... read more

New and prospective renters should be aware of two things about Extra Space Storage. First, they will give you a good deal for a couple of months and then make a huge increase in your monthly rent. Second, even if you tell them you will use your own padlock, they will leave one anyway. If you return it right away, they say they will give you a credit. But, being busy moving your items, if you ASSUME you will get a refund when you move out, you will be wrong. Their policy is to not give refunds or credits on your credit card.... read more

As an employee we are supposed to feel safe and comfortable at jobs however , A customer visited my previous workplace regarding a bill scheduled for auction. I clarified that as a floater in the district, I was unaware of the situation. The customer became agitated, raised their voice, spoke condescendingly and demeaningly to me. RUN FROM THIS PLACE! They treat people like crap! He experienced a tornado that caused damage to the property. The way they treated ** and continue to treat us is horrifying, CLASS ACTION HORRIFYING. I'm still waiting THREE WEEKS FOW CORPORATE TO RETURN A PHONE CALL. Extra Space Storage seems to be running themselves into the ground. Price goes up when they feel like it and almost $90! Ridiculous! They tell you they sent an email. NOT! Don't use them! You'll go broke!

District Manager ************************* has mentioned "the black race" and "break-ins" within the same sentence not knowing that the back office door was open. He also talks down to people and asks the same redundant questions repeatedly. Former SM at Panorama City ************************* was lying to customers for months on end saying they don't offer the online rate at that store when that is not true at all. Fees are astronomical. I have a 10x10 space. Extra love purchased Storage company where my goods are stored . The late fee is higher than the late for the rent on my apartment. I can get the same space at U-Haul for half the price. Price gouging seems to be the practice. Just received notice on another increase. American Greed at it's finest.

VERY Deceptive Pricing Strategies - they will double rent after you move your stuff in.I rented my storage unit on January 1st. Paid the initial / setup fee and monthly charge. Took a day off of work, hired a moving van and a crew. On February 20th (50 days), I received a notice my rent was doubling - that's right, doubling. They understand moving is an investment. Company can improve on doing a lot better on hiring managers in some areas due to them not having any class when dealing with customers . Mangers are to ghetto and and dont even do their job properly and it a shame that they seat there and get paid for nothing they dont clean their facilities . At all and def try to get over on people . I wont be referring anyone to this business they better try some were else first !!!!
