The doctor came into the exam room but didn’t really discuss any of my symptoms. Although I reported I thought I had a cold and my son had been diagnosed with strep throat the previous week, the doctor announced I had allergies that had led to my eye infection and wrote a script for an antihistamine and an eye ointment. I would have preferred eye drops. But was not given that option. The eye ointment is very messy and burns and itches, a problem I have not had with eye drops.
