When I first became her patient 10+ years ago, I would see a PA initially but Dr. Gaughf would always step in and exam and explain any conditions or concerns. I’ve had 2 post-COVID appointments due to a vaccine-related eczema outbreak. Saw a very nice PA (although I could have done without the pat on the knee and “God bless you”) but have not seen Dr. Gaughf, despite the fact that the first medication prescribed did nothing to relieve the constant itch and rash (nor has the second). I have never seen the doctor. Why? I've only seen the PA. This was my second visit and the second time she has looked at the sores on my arm. They have been there for over a year. She took a biopsy last year and found they were not cancer but she basically said she was not sure what they were and they were not going to be a problem. Maybe looking at the ugly scabby sores on my arm for over a year were not a problem for her but they are for me. She stated that they are a kind of picky thing. Confused about cancer comment.My husband, a retired urologist,was also confused
Had a problem bleeding from behind my left ear. The PA found that I had scratched my ear. She did a full body exam and froze places on top of my head. Also took a biopsy of a place on my right side.
I saw when I was a teenager and she removed a mole on my back without my permission while my mother watched. Dont take your kids here! Don't trust her about your moles that you know better than anyone else. That mole of mine was fine, it just had makeup on it from a dance performance I'd be in the previous weekend and that's why it seemed darker. Sign on door says Masks Required. I and other patients in lobby were wearing masks. The receptionist and workers behind the counter were not wearing masks. Dr. Gaughf and staff were not wearing masks. PA Christina and technical aid were not wearing masks when examining me. I had to take my mask off to be examined. I was exposed to them and had no choice about wearing my mask since my face had to be examined for skin cancer. I am 74 years old and vaccinated. My experience, with dr. Gaughf, I don’t feel valued at all, dr. Gaughf passed me on to one of her Colleagues, Blair and she does the samething, they rush me in and rush me out, and when they messed up on my appointment, no one wanted to take responsibility and they only said I’m sorry my health is important to me, but not to them. I literally have anxiety when my appointment is approaching.
Unprofessional. Appointment was in the morning, waited in the dark waiting room while the staff had their morning gossip session in back for 15 minutes before anyone would come check me in or talk to me (yes, the office was supposed to be open already) then got to listen to them complain about patients and how they had to work until 4 PM. The visit was effective, nothing special out of the ordinary. I was prescribed 4 medications, one was so new CVS did not carry it, one was not covered by insurance and CVS requested an alternative. I have been waiting 10 days, called their office 3 times and had no return calls, and my wife went to office. They promised it would be resolved 2 days ago. I am done with her. I will find someone who can give me medical care.
