There are a few reason why we will not give a good rating/ review to this company. During our process we experienced different issues that makes us feel dissatisfied. To start, we would like to note how lengthy our process was. The date we initiated the process with CrossCountry Mortgage was November 2020 and the date of the closing was not until almost one full year later (October 2021). First-time home buyer here and my experience wasn’t great. For starters, on the day of my closing, I got bombarded with three emails and two texts to give a five-star review. However, the process with them took exactly 106 days to complete, and this was due to mismanagement on their end. Second, they were not readily available to talk on the phone, and it took them an average of 2.5 days to respond via email. I would not recommend Citywide Home Loans. I used them for my home purchase mortgage because they were a participating lender for the City of Denver Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) program. Citywide didn't communicate all of the terms and conditions of the MCC program with me during my closing process. I didn't know all of the terms of the program until I received my MCC certificate after my closing, in particular the annual cap on the 2016 MCC which made thousands of dollars of difference.
