First-time home buyer here and my experience wasn’t great. For starters, on the day of my closing, I got bombarded with three emails and two texts to give a five-star review. However, the process with them took exactly 106 days to complete, and this was due to mismanagement on their end. I would not recommend Citywide Home Loans. I used them for my home purchase mortgage because they were a participating lender for the City of Denver Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) program. Citywide didn't communicate all of the terms and conditions of the MCC program with me during my closing process. I didn't know all of the terms of the program until I received my MCC certificate after my closing, in particular the annual cap on the 2016 MCC which made thousands of dollars of difference.
