My New Vet! I just recently moved back to Westchester and was looking for an honest veterinarian. I found it! I must of researched almost all vets nearby on Yelp before reading the reviews on Hartsdale Veterinary Hospital. Of course you can't 100% depend on the reviews but you don't really have much to go on until your visit. I was able to get an appointment on Sunday which was a plus and the receptionist was really sweet. Before I got there I was worried about being overcharged and leaving with a hefty bill. I'm sure most... read more
I didn't realize that I didn't like my last vet's office until I came here and saw the light. I think one of the biggest concerns with veterinary care is being charged for unnecessary work-ups. Unless you are in the veterinary field yourself it is impossible to know what is appropriate care and what isn't, so you end up going with your vet's recommendations only to be stuck with a big bill for questionable care. This was my situation until I switched to Hartsdale Veterinary Hospital. My beloved dog receives just as thoroug... read more
Dr Thayer and staff are very helpful. He really takes his time, even when nothing is wrong and you are just in for a routine exam. The best of the best!
My mother has been bringing her cats here for years. The entire staff is so accommodating, friendly and compassionate. Last month my mother's cat had to be put down. Yesterday, my mother received a letter from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, Feline Health Center informing her that the vet's office made a generous donation in memory of her cat. I think this gesture speaks volumes about the service and genuine care and concern provided by this organization.
I went to Dr. Thayer in October to have my vizsla, Susie, treated for ear ache and tested for diabetes. Dr. Thayer was thorough in explaining how to care for Susie's ear and ran tests. He called with the results. He thoroughly examined Susie, saying she was healthy but needed non-urgent dental work.
My father is a veterinarian, so I have rarely had the need to go anywhere when it came to pet care. However, being as my father is in Florida, and I`m in NY, I realized that I would need to find someone local, and after hearing the horror stories of other people and their vets, I was nervous to say the least. My dog had an ear infection that just wouldn't go away, so on a recccomendation from a friend, I called Dr. Thayers office and the office girls were so friendly, and they were able to see him that afternoon (which was ... read more
my wife and me are so happy to have found/used Hartsdale Vet. its all there: great staff, clean, and great vet who doesnt want to just hit you in the wallet. Its nice to have found a vet/staff that cares for our dog while offering fair prices and best service.
Do not trust this place with your pets-- they ignored my dog's infected cyst for months and told me there was nothing to do about it and I had to find a specialist on my own that removed it immediately and told me they couldn't believe that a vet gave us that feedback. They took hundreds of dollars from us and also refuse to refill his prescription for pain. This is a money hungry establishment that cares way more about raking in dollars vs actually caring for animals that need help . Go literally anywhere else
After leaving my review they "inactivated" me as a client and said that I was the one being rude. Are you kidding? This is a receptionist being rude to a customer, taking things to a personal level and having me "inactivated"? Why not try to do a better job? What about my dog? Why insinuate that I'm a bad pet owner? What about the doctor, the patient, and the owner? Is how the receptionist feels more important than the customer? Is the customer supposed to submit to a rude receptionist out of fear of being "inactivated"? I t... read more
