Completely disorganized. They turn off phones when they're too busy -- making it impossible to get through. They don't send medical records unless one asks multiple times. They don't respond to emails. They don't call with follow-up results as they promise. Dr. Thayer may be good but if you care about your pet and being involved in its care, go elsewhere.
WARNING:do not bring your pet to this horrific place. My beautiful fur baby was in pain. After he was treated for an apparent urinary block and still crying out he was drugged and sent home - shoved in this crate head 1st, never to wake up. Vet said oh - something else must have been wrong. Even though our babies tests were all normal. Our lives will never be the same after this horrific loss.
I'd say 1 star for killing my cat via overdose is a bit, inaccurate? Yeah. Just a bit, considering I'm traumatized forever. Everybody. I found out there are other instances where people's cats were killed here from being misdiagnosed and given improper medication. Our cat was brought home from what we were told was a successful procedure that went fine, (they cleared a bladder blockage) One of the employees there told us on the phone that my cat was aggressive so they gave him extra medication. LIYING BY OMISSION: I've been bringing my dog to this hospital for a few years now. It's a been great place. My dog needed a teeth cleaning and I was putting it off while saving money for what I had assumed would be a hefty bill. In a conversation with my boyfriend about the cleaning my BF mentioned that we were unable, at this time, to afford the procedure. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF! I had just recently brought my new puppy home and of course I needed to bring her to her first vet visit to make sure everything was okay. So my mom called up a variety of vets in the area asking about pricing for a first time puppy visit in addition to vaccines. I have been going to Dr. Thayer for over 10 years and normally has been a very wonderful experience. I took one of my 4 cats to get spayed. When I picked her up the following day the receptionist told me my cat Georgie had worms. I clean the cat litter box 3 times a day and I never saw a worm and Georgi was in to see Dr. Thayer a month prior and never mentioned worms and she is not an outdoor cat. As a plea to all pet owners who love their pets as much I loved my best friend, do not ever bring them to this place. It is strictly due to the incompetence and negligence of this hospital that my cat was mis diagnosed, and mis treated for a extremely large sum of money....only to die in their hands without me present because Dr. slayer thought he would "try something else". Dr. Thayer was friendly and helpful but it seems like he relies too much on his assistants. The vet techs have communication problems and appeared to lack experience. When our dog got neutered, he came home with a red, soar quarter-sized area underneath his arm pit. His hair was missing too. When I asked the vet tech she just said "I'm not sure what happened but he seems fine." This is not good. The assistant also put a jumbo-sized cone on my dog who weighs only 10 lbs. I wanted very much to like this vet, as they are very convenient to our home. When I first brought our cats in for exams and shots, I was impressed with Dr. Thayer. I liked his low key personality and his obvious love for cats. I do not question that Dr. Thayer is a competent doctor. My two star review is for the general service I received at the clinic.
