Very aggressive billing and inflexible office staff willing to lose a long-time patient over a questionable $80 charge, which was for a brief look at a problem associated with previous work that I already paid well over $10,000 for.

Started going here because it's the closest dental location to my old apartment. Twice the staff booked cleanings (with a doctor's visit) when the doctor wasn't in the office, but didn't tell me he wasn't there. So each time I had to wait an upwards of an hour before the dentist was in the office (for a couple minute check-up). Super, super disorganized. I was a patient of Hirshberg Dental for more than 30 years and found the care provided excellent. Recently, after my hygienist left the practice, I received a call from their business manager saying they no longer wanted me as a patient because I had refused to get x-rays or to see Dr. Hirshberg for exams during my regular cleaning visits. If you are having serious work done get a quote ahead of time. The Dr quoted me $6k for an implant and the final cost came to $7000. Update - The implant was incorrectly placed so I had to have it replaced by someone who knew what they were doing. I'd rather go toothless then go back to Hirshberg Dental.

Having an appointment and being there in time doesn't implicate to be attended at HD. I waited 20 min. and was asked to even wait longer or reschedule my appointment. Why? Due to the poor organization I already lost over an hour without being attended. There are plenty of other good dentists in Boston. A good experience is based on the reception of clients. I had to rate or this would not post This was my first and last visit to this dental group. I went in for a routine clean and ended up being a painful experience. The hygienist was overly aggressive and I left with sore and bleeding gums. I've always taken good care of my teeth and have had no major issues. She first took exrays and told me I had issues in an area. Then she started her cleaning and really digging into my gums. It was painful. I would give this place ZERO STARS if it was an option. My husband went there back in the winter and had his cleaning and was told he needed two cavities filled. They made no mention of what insurance would pay so my husband didn't think anything of it as they typically collect day of the appointment. When he arrived to have his cavities filled, he went straight back and had the procedure done. I have always looked forward to going to the dentist and love the fresh, clean feeling when I leave. The first time I was at Hirshberg Dental, I had an amazing experience treated by one of the dentists himself. A bonus, the office is close to my work so I couldn't wait to come back. The most expensive tooth in my mouth and the worst one. I complained at the time that the implant didnt't feel right. Smug Dr. Wozny when he wasn't on the phone with his wife, calls he took while I was in the chair, said. It's just a little small, well they certainly didn't charge me less for less of a tooth.
