I liked seeing the hygienist there but I felt that we never came up with a dental plan for my teeth to keep them healthy, which is important with all the issues that I have. There were cracks in my teeth that were never mentioned and I have to take care of my gums. I also found out from my new dentist that some of the work done wasn't correctly- bite issue on filling and there was so much work done on a tooth that I now need a crown. PROS: - Professional space - Little wait time - Efficient billing - OK for people with healthy teeth, only going in for cleanings CONS: - Extremely expensive - Impersonal service (doctors rarely remember you) - Tendency to let issues go until they become a huge problem (lends to ability to charge $$$ without a second consultation) DETAIL REVIEW BELOW: I had to write this review because there are so many positive comments, but I don't think it gives a complete picture of the services here. On paper, Hirshberg Dental looks highly professional with a state of the art office and efficient, friendly front office staff. But step "behind the curtain" and it quickly becomes clear that this is the dental equivalent of a not-so-reputable car dealer, eager to push expensive, often unnecessary services to maximize profits. This was a dental group recommended to me by a friend but we had pretty different experiences here. First, one of the receptionists gave me the wrong time over the phone and the receptionist working the day of my appointment reprimanded me for being 15 minutes late. The hygienist asked me about any concerns and I told him that my concerns were purely financial because I did not have any insurance. I'm a new patient at Hirshberg. The first time I went in, they told me that I need some extra work. I've always been told that my gums were a bit bad, but never all of this extra work. They took extra x-rays and then charged me for it. I called to complain and they took them off my bill (40.00 for one x-ray that I didn't ask for!) I went back to get the procedure that they strongly recommended and they quoted one cost for the procedure. I had the procedure done and it was good - the staff treated me well. Wow. This was the second-worst dental experience of my life. I've never really minded going to the dentist - I've never had a cavity and generally have really healthy teeth. But today, the hygenist put me in SEVERE pain! She was hacking at my gums like nobody's business! Then the dentist came in, and he was totally arrogant and unfriendly. Hirshberg = Corporate Dental Factory I've been to Hirshberg 3 times and now vow to find another dental practice owned and operated like a neighborhood business rather than a corporate entity! I was made to feel like an outcast for not wanting to pony up $$$ for x-rays and the dentist even had the nerve to ask me to sign a release form so I couldn't sue them if I had any cavities down the road they couldn't detect without x-rays. (I told him next time which won't ever be happening!)

If you don't have money or great insurance, don't bother! They will let you know that and treat you as such. The Dr. was arrogant and the work was below par and had I had the hind sense I should have reported them to the Dental Society. Don't go there.

I arrive, about 5 minutes early. The seemingly friendly receptionist asks me to have a seat, so I wait. I read people magazine from cover to cover --- what a treat. I refuse to buy it, but I secretly devour it when it's in front of me. It's like having frosted flakes when your parents only bought corn flakes (and FYI Mom & Dad, they do NOT taste the same), but I digress. So, I finish people magazine and I move onto Cosmo.
