Been renting a unit in ************** Fl since 2019. Have been paying the same rate every month. This past month got email rate for March $79.31..price went down? Seems like they forgot to add insurance cost and tax. Figure since they goofed they'd give me the lower rate... forgot it! Big corporations only care about the bottom line$$$...if they don't get it from you there's always someone else.
I was completely lied to about the rates of my unit. After a few months I started getting bills for $246, when my rate is $100/mo. I called to complain and the new manager said she was getting a lot of phone calls about this and a lot of people were unhappy. She said it looks like the company wasnt explaining contracts properly to people, and she said it was wrong. I agree and was denied by upper management the price that I agreed to. At the ****** location, I was paying 66$ a month for the unit, 3 months later they doubled my rate for NO reason. Im leaving this review so that no one will use extra space storage. They ****.

Extra Space Storage lures customers in with low "promotional" rates, then doubles the price within months. After just four months, my rate jumped $88, with no real justification beyond "market demand." Their only notification? The customer service at these facilities is terrible! The representatives that answer the phones locally and their main customer service line are definitely not qualified to do what they do. Very difficult to work with and if we had known this from the beginning we would not have stored our belongings there. Our rent started at $105 in December 2024 and has now increased to $181 for the exact same unit. Unbelievable! We also have a Power of Attorney and were told that it was no good to them!!!! Anti-veteran to thier core. Once you fall 10 days behind on a payment, they harass with phone calls, texts and emails. I am a homeless veteran, they couuld care less. After less than 30 days late, they slapped with a fee that costs more than the monthly lease payment. I asked if I could just get my stuff out and be gone, they refuse.
