We always love coming here because it’s usually consistent. However, last night we had really slow service. Our waiter had such a dry personality and honestly was just more of an order taker. We are used to exceptional service here and last night was definitely not the normal. Our dinner also lasted about 3 1/2 hours when we should’ve been done in two that was mostly because of the slow service to pick up plates and course out our meal. Enjoyed Happy Hour(s) with friends in the bar. Espresso martinis are absolutely the best in the area, great old-fashions, and even the spicy Virgin Bloody Mary was terrific. Loved the fact that one of the chefs came out of the kitchen to check that we wanted our smash burgers as rare as possible AND THEN returned with a flashlight when they were served to double check that they were to our liking. Now THAT IS SERVICE!!!
My wife and I go to J prime a few times a year and usually have a great experience. Reservations were running late and we ended up having to take a seat at the bar after waiting 15 minutes past our reservation. Staff was very polite but service was slow, took 20 Minutes to get our drinks and almost an hour to get our food after ordering.
It took 30 mins to get our table, we had reservations for 8pm, we didn’t eat dinner till 9:30, Way too late! The food was good but took too long to get it! Don’t think I would go here again. They were busy Saturday, but should bot take this long! Too many other steak places in town, and prices are high for what you get.
J. Prime in San Antonio was the perfect choice for a birthday celebration. The food was outstanding, the service was attentive and professional, and the ambiance created an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere. Every detail came together to make the evening feel special. Highly recommend for celebrations or a great night out. The manager Alex and our waitress Lilly made sure we had an amazing experience.
