Steak was average, I expected better. I’ve had better steaks around the city. The server and the service was great the steak was not flavorful.
For the first time in the many times we have been to JPrimes. 1) we had four different wait staff, all courteous, respectful , and professional yet we initially sat for 20 mins and had to ask a manager to finally get a drink order in. Upon ordering food one of our guests ordered the kabobs, all finished eating and he had still not received his kabobs. We had to ask wait staff about them and finally they were served. J Prime is my favorite restaurant and I was very disappointed with my last visit. It was 6 of us and one couple ordered a cocktail. It took over 30 minutes to get 2 cocktails. We had to ask 5 times what was taking so long. All we got was an apology with no explanation and they were comped, which they should have been. They received their cocktails within 10 minutes of our meal so they couldn’t even enjoy them. We brought our own bottles of wine and the corkage fee is $45 per bottle. This is a little steep for a corkage fee.
My husband and I used to eat here quite a bit, especially for Sunday brunch after church. They no longer have their Sunday buffet brunch (which was excellent) and this Father's Day brunch was an overpriced disappointment. To call it "brunch" also stretching it a bit. Yes, there was a steak and eggs entree, but they would only serve the eggs sunny side up (you couldn't request scrambled even for an up charge). Celebrate a famiily occasion at J-Prime. The food was excellent but pricey. Bananas Foster Tableside was a treat. The special features like the chef's caviar appetizers, sorbet between courses, and hot towels after the meal were great. The wait staff were excellent when they were at the table but this Friday evening was very busy and we had to flag down waiterstaff to place orders. Went there for my birthday and they treated me like I was a princess. The food was amazing but they got my husbands order wrong. They definitely apologized and all went well. The food and the atmosphere was definitely worth it. Thank you so much for making my birthday special (:
The service was VERY slow. We had several wait staff come to take our order which most likely caused confusion and delays in receiving our meal orders. We arrived early for our 7:30 reservation and was seated early but by the time waitstaff finally came to take our drink order, appetizer order, salad order and finally dinner order - we didn’t get our steaks until 9:30pm and by that time it felt so late so we packed up most of our food to take home. This used to be our favorite steak place in town. We have been there many times over the years and the service has always been impeccable. But we will never go back again after our experience tonight. A table of 5 arrived after us who were obvious cartel folks and our waiter then spent 100% of his time at that single table ignoring all others. I’ve always heard the restaurant was a magnet for those types, but tonight was the first time I’ve seen it in person. Done.
