J Prime was fantastic — steaks were perfectly cooked and the whole experience felt dialed in from start to finish. Huge thanks to Adam, the sommelier, who took the time to understand what we liked and paired our meal with the perfect wine. Knowledgeable, warm, zero pretension. Ask for him when you go. We’ll be back.
J Prime Steakhouse delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Austin. The service was absolutely impeccable, the food was excellent, and the steak selection was especially impressive. A truly outstanding experience from start to finish.

It's rare that I go out for an expensive meal without any criticism at all. The food and the timing of multiple courses was spot on. We were celebrating my husband's birthday as were about ten other parties that night. They give you this very cool balloon with lights for your table and a huge piece of birthday cake (maybe 10 layers?) with sparklers. The sparklers burnt a hole in the white table cloth. Very nice restaurant with great food. Many unique options. The overall vibe was pretty trendy. It was a great restaurant and fun evening. I did have 1 issuer with the restaurant that I emailed in about and didn’t receive a reply. J-Prime was enjoyable but we do find Jeffery’s, Red Ash, Eddie V’s and a few others as places we overall found to rank higher in our opinion.
Adam and Cynthia were amazing! Made my first tome dining at J Prime very memorable.
The experience itself will have me going back for sure!!
Waitstaff: 10/10. The ending: not so much—the captain/manager was unfriendly when settling the bill. No Apple Pay either.
