We had dinner for 8 celebrating a UT grad. The service was amazing and friendly. The cocktails were so much fun with lots of variety and fun. Food was outstanding (seafood tower was highlight along with great steaks). Ive been to many, many steak houses and this one ranks right among the best inviting Del Friscos, Capital Grille, and others. But I might rank it just one step above. Highly recommend.

The tacos were salty, the ribeye was a little underwhelming. The New York strip, the caprese and wedge salads were phenomenal. The service was amazing. The creamy potatoes were to die for. If it were just me, it would be 5 out of 5 but this is a dual review.
J Prime was fantastic — steaks were perfectly cooked and the whole experience felt dialed in from start to finish. Huge thanks to Adam, the sommelier, who took the time to understand what we liked and paired our meal with the perfect wine. Knowledgeable, warm, zero pretension. Ask for him when you go. We’ll be back.
J Prime Steakhouse delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Austin. The service was absolutely impeccable, the food was excellent, and the steak selection was especially impressive. A truly outstanding experience from start to finish.

It's rare that I go out for an expensive meal without any criticism at all. The food and the timing of multiple courses was spot on. We were celebrating my husband's birthday as were about ten other parties that night. They give you this very cool balloon with lights for your table and a huge piece of birthday cake (maybe 10 layers?) with sparklers. The sparklers burnt a hole in the white table cloth.
