They claim they are a five star vet and boarding business? Be careful. The veterinary side charged us twice for the same $1211.35, which wound up being $2422.70. When we inquired, they stuck to it, but finally when pressed for long enough, acknowledged it was their mistake, but now it's this whole debacle of a back and forth with the vet. They aren't simply crediting us, which really should have been done automatically, as it's obvious two accounts were created by mistake. The boarding staff also has much to be desired. We DO NOT recommend Lafayette Veterinary Care Center! We brought our dog Diesel there February 2018 because he had an adverse reaction to fleas in this area. The location is clean and the nurses are very nice but they are very expensive. We decided to use them anyway because of the recommendations we received from friends. Our first visit would end up costing almost $600.00 and we did not get any shots or tests! One thing we did get was a prescription for flea and heart worm protection good thru 9/30/19. Business response:

Ryan, after reading your review I’m worried there may be a mistake or miscommunication somewhere. Not to be reactive to your review, but our doctors and team do work tirelessly to ensure all pets receive the best care and have the preventative products they need, whether from us or elsewhere. It may be possible that since we didn’t do any tests Diesel is due for a Heartworm test, but not at the fee of $225. That’s the cost of all annual tests, vaccines and an exam. With your permission, I’d like to look into this further... read more

My husband and I brought in our 14 year old cat b/c he had arthritis and was showing alarming signs of neurological decline. After a complete nose to tail exam, we made the heartbreaking decision that he not suffer anymore. We brought him home one last time, and returned the next evening with our children to lovingly let him go. The staff was comforting and understanding. We were in control of what happened and when. We all sat with him, petting him and crying. When we were ready, he was given a sedative and allowed to... read more
