I was so impressed when I first toured emeritus. The place is only a year old so it's very clean and bright. The consultant raved about the food and complimented her caregivers. My MIL has been a resident in the memory care unit since mid October and I'm so frustrated! When I visit there sometimes isn't someone at the front desk. I can count on one hand the number of times the director of the unit has been there. I think she has two positions there and spends most if her time at the other position. My dad was there about three weeks. He's since passed away. To be honest with you, they wouldn't be high on my list. There were things like my dad fell and no one knew. The night that he fell for the second time there was no nurse and nothing written down of the times when they checked on him or anything - it was like a blank page. They put him in memory care when he didn't need it. The whole time he was there they did nothing for memory care - no classes, no one on one time or even one on six time.
