Things are going pretty well. The food is not what I would always want. But the apartment is really nice, I am pleased with it. They keep it clean, and the staff is friendly. The vegetables are the issue, a lot of times they are fried, and greasy. We have a lot of carrots which are good, the other vegetables not so much. And even though sweet potatoes are in season, and pretty inexpensive we have only had them twice.

There are some issues. They are trying hard and most of them are friendly, but not always confident. It's clean, we don't have any concerns with the cleanliness. There is always a rotating staff. We had some real issues at first, we sat down with a couple of managers. They wear pendants here, and there have been multiple occasions where the pendant was pushed, and it took an inordinate amount of time to come and help. This was one of the top two that we visited. They were very good, and it's a very nice place. The two we were looking at were equally nice. They were both very clean, and well kept, and the staff was friendly at both. It came down to timing and what was available when we needed it.

Julie, 1/2 story with memory , studio $4600, extra $ dog size? movies, popcorn, routine = bland sounding. safe terrace

The activities sound like they’re really good. I’d give the food a 3. For one thing there’s too much salt. When you have heart trouble that’s not good. The food doesn’t match the menu. They’re pretty at looking after you.

After my Mom was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, we were looking for a place that could meet her needs and allow her to maximize her time with quality care and activities. Emeritus Memory Care was a great fit. It took a bit of time for the care givers to get to know Mom and for Mom to trust them, but after the initial adjustment, the care givers and nursing staff were great. This is a nice community, it's a very pretty place, and the staff are friendly and caring. One issue my loved one had a lot of complaints about was the assigned seating for meals, she'd rather be free to pick who she sits with, and the way it worked out for her initially was she ended up at a rather empty table. Based on the recommendations from "A Place for Mom", my mother and I visited 5 assisted living communities in the Kingwood area. Some were very busy, others were more like a hospital, still others felt like a hotel but none felt "just right"...that is until we visited Emeritus at Kingwood. From the second we stepped in the door, the staff was very warm and welcoming.
