I read the great reviews so I decided to come here to get flowers. I was surprised at the lack of selection of pre-made arrangements, and in the refrigerated room I was disappointed in the freshness and just in general the selection. Everyone's in their own world so there's not really anyone there to help you except one front counter girl Who seemed very on interested in helping pick an arrangement based on what I wanted. Although we do carry a selection of pre-made arrangements in the cooler, many of which get sold quickly, we prefer to make freshly made arrangements on the spot to order and we can do so in a matter of minutes using fresh flowers of many varieties. Not good. My boyfriend was out of town for Valentine's Day and ordered an expensive arrangement of roses to be delivered on the 14th. When he called me that night he was crushed to discover that his surprise hadn't gone as planned. When he spoke to them afterwards, they said that they were busy--I mean, you're a florist. My husband has ordered flowers for me many times from this location as it is right by my school that I work at so delivery has never been an issue. They are always beautiful. Every year he gets them for me for Valentine's Day. Well this year there was a mix up with something on a zipcode for the payment and he was not notified before hand. Let me just say the flowers where amazing!! However, the experience we had was terrible. We have been long time customers of Lehrer's for over 30 years having used them for our weddings and many funerals. Absolutely HORRIBLE! Don't use them. I arranged for them to deliver roses to my girlfriend who works at Aurora Medical Center and the idiot delivery guy just dumped them off at the front desk. He had instructions that she was on second floor. Lehrer's just ignored that. Valentine's Day, it's 8:45pm and the flowers I ordered hadn't shown up. I called and asked them about my delivery and they said the flowers were out for delivery but they didn't know how long it would be. At this point the flowers were very late and I'd already ran out and got something else. Lehrer's was nice enough to cancel the order so we didn't have to stay up and wait for the delivery. I've used Lehrer's for a long time and they are usually good. This time they dropped the ball.
I've never had such a horrible experience with flowers/ Delivery ever. My boyfriend placed the order online, and had it sent to me on our anniversary of four years. Not to mention he lives in California, so you can see why this is important and special. My son placed an order through teleflora for my birthday. We discussed the bouquet I liked (he was fine with that) and decided on the Just Tickled arrangement. This arrangement had white daisies, yellow chrysanthemum buds, hot pink carnations and some greenery. The most important thing was the silver ceramic vase.
