Sigh, I brought my cat Simba here a few years ago (yes, this review is long overdue) because he was having issues urinating and seemed to be in a lot of pain. The staff was quite friendly. I brought my cat back where their Vet who examined him and the end result was he had kidney stones. He needed monthly medications and examinations, which would ultimately run me a $1000.00 a month (give or take), for who knows how long. Just to clarify, I have no problems with paying for visits up front at the time the service was rendered... read more

Business response:

We are truly sorry for your loss. Losing a pet in any situation is painful, but most especially if you are balancing your decisions on whether or not you can afford to pursue long-term care. We have worked hard to expand our payment options to offer help ease the burden when a client finds themselves in this situation. Our focus is on helping and we're sorry that you felt that help fell short.

I think this place is not professional enough to let me have 100% trust on what they are doing. Well, the doctors are nice, and of course professional(they HAVE to b). But the people at the counter seem that they have No idea what they are talking about. I had taken my pet to this place for like 4 times including first doctor examination. I call them every time before I show up there to make sure what needs to be done for my cat and for little consultation. However, the person I talk to on the phone, and people I talk to whe... read more

I am so sorry I have to write this review but I think other pet owners should have this knowledge. I have been a client of Linda Mar Vet Hospital for over 6 years, I presently have 5 dogs that are patients of LMVH and I volunteer for Lab Rescue coordinating dog surrender and adoptions. I also foster for Lab Rescue. I have no problem with any of Linda Vets, they are great and have given good care for my dogs. Having said that, their fairly new office manager is terrible at providing any customer service and is probably is ... read more

Business response:

We have numerous rescue organizations that we welcome and support whole heartedly. Additionally, we have other private programs of our own that have supported low cost spay and neuter for pets as well as feral cats. Our comittment to helping in these ways has not changed in over 20 years. For the protection of our efforts as well as those of rescue organizations, we need certain information to establish a relationship. This information was requested, but not provided to us. We would still welcome this organization with ... read more

Staff is nice but they run all these tests and dont explain what its actually going to cost till its time to pay. I took my Boxer there for a check up and after all his skin tests it came up to $300 for ONE visit. Nice staff but too expensive!

2018 update: dropping from five to two stars. After 10+ years of taking our pets there, we've moved on. The two Rotties mentioned below grew to four, but with our two new guys (##5 and 6), it was time to find a new vet - the place has changed, and not for the better. The best way to describe it is that it went from an expensive place where they knew you and seemed to care about the pets, to an expensive place where you're a number and it's more about money. There were multiple interactions where we scratched our heads and... read more

This is not my regular vet so I can't say much about them. However, I have called this place twice for an emergency (my vet was closed) and they shut me down both times! They said they were just too busy. REALLY???? You are still open for another 2 hours and you don't have time to see my dog??? I had to drive him all the way to San Mateo when I live 2 minutes from this vet! I will NEVER take my dog here.

This is a place concerned with volume not quality. We will never take a pet there again as you will never see the same vet twice and since so many of their vets are relief vets you are very unlikely to get a quality diagnosis and treatment. Went in to have my dog looked at as he was panting heavily, vomiting and diarrhea. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis. We were sent home told to feed him rice and chicken. As he continued to decline over the next two days we took him back. The next vet (different from the first on... read more

It has been over a year now and I finally can write this review without getting emotional about the lost of my dogs. I had been taking my two large breed dogs to Linda Mar Vet since they were puppies and could not believe how coldly the receptionist on the phone acted last year when I called to inquire about having them euthanized. One dog was 14 years old and the other was 13 years old...both had lived well over their natural live expectancy, but when they started to suffer, we thought it was time for them to be at peace. ... read more

My parents have been taking their dog there and he was given the wrong shots for boarding. He has been having a terrible cough ever since then. I finally decided to post this having read Chelsea's review.
