After 30 years of hair color I can honestly say this was the worst experience...they won't touch your eyebrows...the sinks are dreadfully uncomfortable....they don't thoroughly remove the color from your neck/ears (despite asking, I ended up with many cotton pads full of color I removed myself)...and the MOST embarrassing of all, I used a brush that I couldn't get through my hair, so I went back to grab a comb from the "sanitized" box and a colorist barked out at me "did you put back a brush in that box" so the entire salon ... read more

The atmosphere: Colorists who act like they're doing you a favor, my assigned person Lisa didn't bother to introduce herself, was poorly put together and the salon was gross at 10:45am. The floor was covered in hair and I was provided with a black cape in a ball and when I opened it up hair clumps that didn't belong to me fell out. Worst hair experience I've ever had!! I went in yesterday and was standing at the empty front desk for 5 minutes noticing an employee standing in the back folding bags. She looked up, didn't say anything and continued to fold. A few minutes later she came up to me and said to follow her. She never said "hello" or even said her name. I walked in to see if there was any available appointments. I stood at the front desk for 15 minutes before someone finally came out, and I asked her if they could do a quick tone (20-30 minute process). She said "no" with an attitude and walked back into the employees only section of the store. I can't say how their services are, but I can say their attitude is quite rude.

I will never go back there! First, I know when a colorist or stylist touches my hair, and from there, I know how my experience will be. I have long and thick hair! However, my hair is straight and easy to work with if the professional is a professional. Huge mistake trying to try Madison Reed! The first thing my colorist said to me was, " You have very thick hair and super long. Avoid this place at all costs. The novelty of this business is not worth enduring the manager's bad attitude and blatant discrimination against customers. After being ignored when I initially came in, I sat in an empty salon chair since the waiting area was full. The manager approached me in a rage and said I couldn't sit there and that she would have to clean it again. After some back and forth, I let it go. If I could leave negative stars I would. DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE AT THIS SALON. It was my first time using Madison Reed I had about an inch of roots and told the employee (to call her a colorist or a stylist would be a lie) that I want to match my natural color, very dark brown. The color is too dark. If that was the only problem I wouldn't bother with a review, I would just never go back and wait for the color to fade. But wait there is more. If you want Supercuts for hair color this place is for you. I have zero dimension and a bad color as well. Lots of red undertones exactly what i didnt want. They dont use toner which was not explained. Dont do it. They will never make it in Westport. SO BAD.

Wanted to try it since my salon closed due to COVID this week. I'm guessing if you want to have the exact color you have naturally this will work. They do not modify your color it is pretty much what you already have that is growing in. I don't know any women that puts one artificially looking solid color in their hair.
