This was a delightful place! The fact that it is in an old historical building makes it even more special! Our server was terrific. The only reason I gave the service 4stars was because the kitchen seemed slow getting our entree out. Everything was really good beginning with the tasty bread dipped in olive oil with lots of Parmesan. My test for good Italian food is generally something typical. In this case I ordered lasagna. The bolognaise sauce was excellent! I would definitely recommend Mangiamo's!
We lingered nearly 4 hours over dinner catching up with friends we hadn't seen for 40 years. the restaurant was full, but was quiet for conversation and we never felt rushed or like we we abandoned by our sweet server, Mary. If you want to go somewhere really nice, especially when taking guests to dinner, come to Mangiamo's. It is so great. We are always pleased!
The dinner experience and food at Mangiamo was great, as it always is. The only disappointing aspect was that they are replacing their pizza oven and so there was no pizza available. Other than that, we had a great dinner prior to the show at Van Andel and will be back!
We took my parents who were visiting to dinner here. The menu surprised me with so many vegan/gluten free items. I was expecting more traditional Italian fair. The food was okay, nothing that set itself apart. Cocktails were good, but we were not able to order wine, because the timing of our service was poor. Still had cocktails when the meals came out. The decor and building is truly special. Just wish the food and service measured up to it.
Enjoyed our server Mary out on the patio this evening. She was kind and attentive and efficient. Our dinners were excellent!
We took an out of town business partner for the experience. The venue is beautiful! The service was great - until we paid the bill and then we never saw our server again. That was extremely disappointing. The food was good. Three of us had pasta. It was good. Another had duck and said he would not order it again. We were seated next to a birthday party of 15+ which made conversation at times a bit challenging. We had made reservations so I was dis appointed to be placed where we were.
a Mother's Day special event. Good service considering what we were there for. Fixed menu had good options and execution typical of Gilmore Collection restaurants.
As always, we enjoyed our most recent visit to Mangiamo, this time for Mother's Day brunch. Service was great, food a selection of italian style brunch items, frittatas, polenta, etc, a good choice for any occasion
