As the MULTITUDE of other reviews indicate - if NO STARS was an option, I would choose that. WORST EXPERIENCE with a company that I have had in a very long time. We strive to be transparent with every part of the leasing process, including what is acceptable and what is unacceptable during tenancy. Per the leasing agreement, charges are split evenly amongst all tenants for damages, including exterior ones. Do not recommend. My daughter leased an apartment for 2 years. During that time, there were no updates to the apartment. Before she moved out, the apartment above her had a leak that poured water in her apartment. They are not returning her deposit…guess why?? Carpet damage. She was charged for a light bulb, a battery for a smoke alarm, etc. They are keeping her deposit and charging an extra $200. Tessa, we are sorry that you feel this way! I believe there has been a misunderstanding of what the tenants were charged for. They were not charged for anything related to the leaking ceiling or for the replacement of carpet in the common areas. The carpet damage charges were for red stains in the carpet in the bedroom that could not be removed. These stains were not indicated in the move-in report that each tenant signed off on, so have no choice but to charge for them since we had to replace the carpet due to those stains.... read more

My boyfriend has a lease with these folks however doesn’t live in the apartment. There is another tenant who is on the lease who pays the entire bill because HE lives there. However matchbox has been charging us for half the rent STILL and sent us to collections for $1,500. DO NOT RENT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED OR HAVE A GREAT, CHEAP LAWYER.
