Fantastic Only had this a few days, but I love it so far. It was ridiculously easy to set up. No driver needed for Mac or iPhone. Both print via AirPrint, right out of the box. Print quality is fantastic. I like how the ink is loaded from the small front panel. This is much better than my last printer. Replacement ink is available on Amazon and inexpensive. What more do you need?
So far, so good. Just received the printer today. Setup was fairly easy, including the wi-fi setup. Worst problem in the setup was figuring out the keyboard on the LCD (uppercase/numeric). The printer printed my tax forms well. Output was nice and fairly quick. The only problem was the on/off button yielded a message that said "Busy. Try Later". Ok printer Not the best printer I have had. I have actually had to transfer something to the phone to print from it because either seems to communicate better with the phone thN with the pc. Weird.
Mediocre Printer I bought this as an upgrade of my 6 year old Brother LC61. There was no improvement over the old printer in fact the old one does a better job copying gloss originals. The MFC-J491DW also is a ink hog. I couldn't believe how fast it used it. The price for "genuine" Brother ink is outrageous at about $65 for a high-yield refill. I have been using $15 dollar refills with no apparent difference from the ink that came with the machine.
