WOW! Highly recommend this printer After using an HP 8500 Series for years, it finally crashed (several time before too) and I refuse to keep buying print heads and the expensive ink cartridges. Reading positive review for this Brother 5830 I gave it go, and am I impressed. So easy to set up, it's a no brainer to connect with the MAC desktop and my MAC book and all the i phones in the house. almost perfect we really love this printer and the low cost of ink compared to our HP office jet it replaces. the ONLY problem I have seen is when we use 24# paper like from Costco warehouse or sams club the black ink will smear even days later if you use a normal highlighter. but all other colors do not smear. though on 20# nothing smears and on 110# card stock nothing smears. So be careful on highlighting when using 24# paper. we like the 24# paper for our ministry as it has a better feel and somewhat stiffer feel.

WOW. For the cost, this printer is excellent! Try it! Home office use, wirelessly from several laptops, android tablets even Amazon's Fire Tablet (which we know is buggy sometimes) and several Samsung Smart Phones. Very surprising but this printer produces very good text for reports and very good full-color photographs on glossy paper. Printing is fast enough and the ink usage is not excessive. much better than HP versions! I really like this, it's much more substantial, commercial even, compared to a few HP units I've had over the years. Even the sound of the scanner, copier, sound more industrial. The HP unit this replaced had a failed scanner, even after only 2 years or so and not much use. The sounds the HP would make with snaps and clicks didn't inspire confidence but I didn't know any better until I bought this machine. This is a robust and larger machine than the common HP units-so maybe for a small home off... read more
Don't Be Fooled This printer is mediocre to me so far at best. Setup was very easy, but that was the best part of the adventure with this machine. For me - the paper rollers on this printer don't seem to work well when the paper tray is 1/4 full of paper. Once the tray is "fuller" the printer picks up the paper without issue when printing smaller jobs. If I have a larger print job, it seems to misfeed a bit.
