Defective Print Function, Buyer Beware Brother MFCL5850DW - The copy function is defective. Whether you are using the flatbed or the document feeder, the copies print crooked and the margins are out of alignment (not equal distance). Discovered this problem after the 14-day Staples return policy since we primarily use the print vs copy function. don't like the screen don't like the screen. would prefer buttons. too many mistakes can be made. also the fax verification report is sent back with wrong info. ie: date/time/fax destination all wrong information. I double and triple checked for correct fax# of destination. the report comes back with completely wrong date/time and destination fax number?? wth? I have been online with brother several times to try and fix the problem. they have NO idea.

And one of em has network interface problem. I returned a bad one and order another one. Very nice to deal with Amazon. Ok. DOES NOT PRINT I just bought this, my 10th Brother printer. Great price but I'm on the 3rd unit and still have not been able to print 1 page yet. I've been on the phone with customer service collectively for 6 hours and no one can get this printer to print. Maybe yours works great but right now this is looking like a mistake. We'll see if the 3rd time is the charm.
I just got this product and I am afraid I ... I just got this product and I am afraid I will have to send it back. From the moment I plug it in. It reads "Jam Inside" It instructs to "open the front cover, pull out the Drum Unit completely and remove the jammed paper. But I have not even put paper yet. There is paper no were, there is jam no were I re-set it hundred times an it wont start.
They made it worse than the previous model I had an earlier version of this (MFC-8710-DW) and it was a much better machine! For one thing, the earlier version had BUTTONS that you could push. This only has a screen. No buttons. It is harder to use. And because the screen is right where you print, sometimes you have to slide your finger under what you are printing to reach the screen. One Star Just bought it couple months ago and I am having problems with it
Great Printer but Critical Flaw with Automatic Feeder I would have given this printer five stars but the registration process is terrible... then I found a critical flaw. It took me all of about 10 minutes to unpack the printer and run through the easy install program. Zoom, I was hooked up to the home network and soon testing print and scanning functions.
