Scans well, printing is fast but quality I bought this as a return at a bricks and mortar store, listing said needed toner, but it seems the person took out toner and drum . I bought a new brother cartridge, and 2 remanufactured drums. I have had printing issues with both! The first drum had a mark on it that I couldn't get out so I bought another drum, this time the whole page prints with a gray cast at times, like the really old photocopy machines. JUNK!! If you need this for printing and/or scanning purposes, forget it! (Isn't that what we purchase printers for?) Right out the box, pages scan and print crooked. Called Brother numerous times, and they had us do everything from cleaning it, changing the drum, and re-installing the software. Instead of replacing the printer with a new one, they will only send a refurbished one! Terrible product and terrible customer service from Brother.
Stopped working after 2 years We bought this printer for work, it was amazing....easy to set up new and fancy compared to the dinosaur we had before. All that being said..... they don't make them to last. Of course the one year warranty has expired and after Brother tech support couldn't do anything it was said you have to buy a new one. It is so disappointing that this once great printer can't with stand two years of printing.
Problem with feeder in just two month of purchase the feeder is not working. I placed a support ticket and haven received any response. Very frustrated!
Scanning sucks Scanning is horrible with this machine
HIGH PER PAGE COST This machine has a page yield of 30% of what Brother advertises. Customer service is no help with warranty work as long as it prints. The cost of operation of this machine is 3X what cost per page of my old HP was. Very dissappointed in Brother.
ADF doesn't copy or fax 2-sided. Otherwise PERFECT. (MFC-L5850DW "upgrade" isn't sold by Amazon). MFLC-L5850DW upgrade has an advantage, which may be important to you. (It was a showstopper for me). I was forced to buy elsewhere, because Amazon doesn't offer the upgrade model. BTW, they can be run from a Linux CUPS Server, supporting network configurations as "serious business machines". One Star After less than 4 months of owning the printer it started spitting toner all over the pages.
Bad printer, bad brother Bad printer, bad brother. Top broke right after the warranty expired. Did not really enjoy this printer. I WANT MY Money BACK!
