I love the fact that this school isn't small or big, it's in the middle with the right amount of students and teachers to grow together.
They always have a nurse and will take care of students from personal needs to emotional needs
I like my school. It just opened up, so it's still working out a lot of things. And I know that it isn't perfect, but I honestly just wish that they had been more prepared for their seniors.
This school really deserves a zero, but I'll give it a one because I have to. Their priorities are simple: not in uniform (wrong socks, no tie) possible suspension, but s**ual assault accusations and the fact that there are more kids here than the resources they offer aren't important. They only care about their reputation. DON'T COME HERE.
They are a racist school, who never addressed the racism I dealt with here and tried to get back at my mother for having me lead the school by getting my mother charged with truancy.
Newman International Academy is, for their credit, a school that tries its best with the limited funding and resources they have. Unfortunately, the school is more preoccupied about the wrong things than the students actually receiving a college-prep level education. They treat high schoolers as if they are still elementary students and there is no voice or input from the student body of changes or improvements that could be made to the school. Students receive no SAT or ACT prep, and that is reflective in the scores. Religi... read more
This school is a joke! Do not send your children here. The school lacks ethics and communication skills. Teacher are inaccessible to parents. The school has a circle their wagons policy that takes several days to address critical issues. They do not even have the integrity to follow their own policies and procedures. Administration does not follow the "chain of command" structure they put in place. They ignore parent concerns and put students in real danger.
As others on this site have explained, the school does have some strengths. Many of the teacher do a quality job. However there are others that lack the skills to adequately teach. This is similar to the way some of the administration communicate and handle children. Especially those with learning disabilities. My suggestion is to steer clear of this school if your child has any learning issues, they lack those professional skills.
I go to he one in Cedar Hill. I find the work pretty easy. Getting help with your work is pretty easy. But they are highly unorganized and trying to get information from the staff is difficult. They have a police officer that was involved in a $1.5 million case and later had to resign. A teacher that has been let go fir having weed. The parents were not informed about it either. Also since we are not the “Golden school” we don’t have many resources. Our foot ball team had to play games without certain equipment and some ende... read more
