The night reception staff was great - checked on us and kept us informed as to when our dog would be seen. Special acknowledgment for Antoine as he went above and beyond to share kind words during a scary time.

The staff was very friendly but it was very expensive. It cost me almost $300 to get my dog examined and have his blood work checked. However, they do know what they're doing! I didn't mind paying it though, I'm just glad my furbaby is okay. It is just like going to the emergency room. If you think it can wait until your regular vet is open then wait.
Just picked up my sweet Josie Bean from NIVES 1 day post Knee surgery #1 of 2 (for bilateral luxating patella) with Dr Essig. What a wonderful experience we had! From check-in for our consultation with Dr. Essig to pick up today we were treated with kindness and everyone was very thorough in their explanation of what to expect and home care. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Coolman, Dr. Totten and the entire staff at NIVES. My Bernese Mountain Dog has had both ACLs repaired and is now more active at six than he was as a pup. Over the years, my family has had animals treated for cancer, pulmonary embolism, autoimmune disorder and congestive heart failure and have always been treated with tremendous compassion and respect. I have been here 3 different times. The very first time I would NOT have recommended this place. The only reason for going back the second time is it is the only emergency after hour vet in the area. Both the second and third times we received such loving and caring service for Tanner. The first time was just horrible. Thank you Northeast Indiana Vet for taking good care of my little Tanner.
Best place if you ever have a need for an emergency vet, they are the best. They went above and beyond for our girl.
