Get directionsOur dog, Ellie, had a very challenging immune disorder that required the attention of an Internal Medicine specialist, blood transfusions, and ultimately, some creative approaches to try to "reboot" her immune system. Those approaches were scripted by the Internal Medicine specialist, Dr. Totten. Ellie spent many days and nights at NIVES, over the course of about six weeks. Dr. Totten and the NIVES staff were very committed to keeping us informed and were very gracious about letting us visit with Ellie. Ellie's veterinar... read more
Business response:
Thank you for your kind words, Joni. You and your family were clearly so dedicated to Ellie; our entire team is thinking of you during this difficult time. She was a very sweet soul and we are honored to have been trusted with her care. Dr. Totten & her team are indeed wonderful and we are very glad Dr. Stresemann & Keely were able to make your final goodbye as comforting as possible. Those moments are hard on us all. Please know you are in our prayers and Ellie will be missed.
We have used NIVES for many years and have always been very happy. On our first visit, the staff correctly diagnosed our dog with Addison's disease, after the primary vet had missed even after several visits and tests. That was 9 years ago and she continues to do fine. I have no doubt that we would have lost her within days if not for NIVES. On our most recent visit, we had to euthanize our other dog. While this was an otherwise horrible situation, we could not have been more pleased with the staff. Dr. Stresemann was incred... read more

Thank you for your kind words, Steve. We know all too well how difficult it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet. We are glad we were able to provide some comfort during this difficult time and please don’t hesitate to give us a call should you need anything. We’re thinking of you & your family and hope your memories of Henry help ease your loss.
I had to take my dog Comet to NIVES in July of 2013 because he ate an old chicken bone that someone/something put in our yard. He stopped eating to the point where he didn't have anymore weight to lose. He contracted Helicobacter pylori from the bone. Through hard work and dedication, my baby is still with me today! Thank you NIVES and Dr. Jill Kitson and staff for a job well done! ❤️❤️❤️
They saved my service dog n worked w me to pay. God bless them in my time of need go dr .schiller
Without this hospital we would have lost our dog. They never got frustrated with the numerous phone calls or endless questions. Thank you again for saving our Raven. The vet that did her surgery went above and beyond. We hope to have another 12+ years with this puppy thanks to you.
A big thank you to Dr. Jill.......again and again and again!! What would we do without you? Effie is back on the couch snoozing like nothing ever happened! He is doing amazingly well!! Our boy has nine lives and the staff has saved all of them!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Karen and Jerry
Business response:
Hi Karen and Jerry, we are so happy to hear that Effie is back to his normal self! Thank you for entrusting us with his care!
On April 19th 2016, we went to NIVES per recommendation by our vet because our 1.5 year old Great Dane basically stopped walking. All he wanted to do is sit on the couch and would only stand for a very short period of time. Dr. Coolman was pretty sure he had torn cranial cruciate ligaments in both of knees but did x-rays just to make sure. Turns out, he was correct and our dog stayed for TPLO surgery on his right leg that very same day. Dr. Coolman was very gentle and did a great job explaining the surgery and all the detail... read more
4 years ago, Dr Karol not only saved my Luigi's life (15 minutes of CPR!), but she also correctly diagnosed him with Addison's, which for what I know, it's not a common illness, this last weekend he had a set back and she once again got me my baby back. I'm forever in debt with her and the wonderful and caring staff of NIVES. they clearly get more than 5 stars from me and my family.
Business response:
Hello Monica! We would like to thank you for heartfelt post. It’s been our pleasure serving you and Luigi and we hope you are both doing well!
The care for my doggy baby was superb....the care for my family.....a blessing. I'm still in tears right now but I know my baby is in good hands. Thank you all for everything. Truly you all are a blessing.
