PRICE GOUGING AT THE BEST!!!! 6/2/2015 So they clearly built this abnormally large facility without a plan on how to pay for it...enter the clientele. They will Village Suck every Penny from you! Save your time and money and check out the YMCA!! Let's start with no group rate!!! Nope, nada, zip, zilch...not even going to discuss it. No corporate rates, no community rates, no school rates, no veterans rates, no senior rates, no gay rates, no straight rates, no black rates!!!! NOTHING! They were not willing to provide a group ... read more

Business response:

Hi WatchMe, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our newest club in Chandler but unfortunately not all the facts are correct. The Village Clubs are intentionally different than the traditional gyms you mentioned, because our 1,000 members in Chandler want a different experience than just a gym. Our established clubs throughout the Valley are approximately 82,000 square feet to provide a spacious and comfortable environment for our members. What makes the Village so unique is the people inside of it, we truly care about ou... read more

Beautiful facility, responsive management, friendly staff. The club has been open less than a month and I've yet to be greeted with anything but a smile and a "how can I help you?" attitude.

Business response:

Hi Melissa - thanks so much for sharing your review! We love helping our members. See you at the club!

This is not a good gym for a family with kids that are less then 14 years old. There is very little that young kids can do. My 9 & 11 years olds are only allowed to use the kid pool. They were told to leave the lap pool when only two lanes were being used. The gym area is tiny. There is no standard squat rack and talking on cell phones is allowed. This is the only gym I have ever been to that allows talking on cell phones. The people who work there are a bit rude too. It is very different then what was described when I had ... read more

Only giving 1 star because I can't give 0. For almost $300/month on a family membership, I expected a lot more. After 2 weeks we're done. The weight room is way too small, it's hard to get a tennis court, the basketball courts are busy and smell like BO, plus the kids club costs $4/hour or $90/month beyond the membership fees, and smells like poopy diapers to boot. Wasn't told about the extra $$$ when we joined. Go elsewhere unless you like small, smelly, crowded, frustrating experiences.

Business response:

Hi Sean - thank you again for sharing your comments and feedback. We strive to be one of the top health clubs in the country by providing excellent service to our members and guests, and it sounds like we might have missed the mark with your recent visit. We will take your comments and concerns into account as we grow in the future - feel free to contact me directly at rerdenberger@dmbclubs.com with any other concerns. Terrible first impression. Daughter and I went to tour and check the place out. I am a long-time LifeTIme gym person, and thought this could be a similar experience but much closer to home. We were told no one was available to help us, given a cup of water, and basically told to leave. Asked if we could look around and was told no. Spent a whole 5 minutes, max, in the entrance area. And no one has called to follow-up with us. Sad.

Facilities are incredible! Service is fantastic. Location is ideal. Just as in life, it all comes at a price: $450 down; $270 per month for a family of four; $140 a month for individuals. It could be worth the price if it is used enough. Your choice. Personally, I'm a fan!!
