This place should be shut down by the State of Florida. A family member was sent home with an over dose by Dr Rodrigues. The sad thing is that if you have Medicare or Medicaid with a mental illness and need medical attention no matter where you go you end up at this so called hospital. God help you.

DO NOT EVER GO HERE I voluntarily entered this hospital as a means to have somewhere safe to stay until my psychiatric appointment two days later with a specialist I had been waiting to see for months. Upon entering, I waited for hours for anyone to admit me, and I was told that my situation was understood and I would be released the day of the appointment. I was seen by Dr. Rodriguez the next day. I have bipolar disorder and without speaking to me for even half a minute, the doctor was rude and condescending. He prescribed ... read more

This is quite possibly the worst hospital I have ever dealt with in my life.I'm not really sure anyone works there besides the people who aanswer the phone. My brother has been a patient there for two weeks put there by his girlfriend.I have called over there every day sometimes twice a day to have his case manager or someone call me back.I have e mailed ,left voicemail messages. No one has ever returned my calls. This place is a joke.I live 4 hours away and I'm sure if I drove over there It would be a waste of my time. This pla... read more

The worst ever. As a patient we go in for help. We care about our life and want to go on living it. Our name is on that insurance card. The insurance pays the hospital bill and possibly the employee salary . I was treated as if I was in prison, being screamed at. I demanded an apology and got it but I did not feel that was good enough and filed a complaint through Medicare which is now in process. I've been in rehab before and was treated with respect and it was a very successful and educational experience. After I got out... read more

This is quite possibly the worst hospital I could've ever imagined for people with mental health issues. I would give no stars in this review if I could. Hell, I'd give negative stars if I could. Just to clarify, I was there involuntarily due to a misunderstanding between me, an ex, and police officers & I was put under the Baker Act. Upon arriving, I was told I would be leaving within a couple hours. Nobody told me anything about me being under the Baker Act. I was basically told to wear a hospital gown and go upstairs w... read more

Park Royal Hospital is an inadequately staffed babysitting facility that only qualifies for two stars because they do keep suicidal patients safe from harming themselves. I was in PRH on the adult unit for major depression recently, and found it much less than desirable for promoting healing in such patients. The days consisted of eating tasteless food during mealtimes (which were the three highlights of the day), three group sessions (no true therapy ever occurred) consisting of information dispersal and laughable, childi... read more

It would be nice to think you could actually go here and start to feel better. My experience has been the exact opposite. They lock you up take away all personal possessions including tampons and you're treated like a common crook. The classes are a laugh and the psychiatrist spends about 15 minutes with you and then starts to dispense medication. They have no idea what the hell they're doing. I would not recommend going here at all for any reason. Luckily I was able to fake being well enough to get discharged. If at all ... read more

Absolutely horrifying facility. DO NOT send your loved one there. There is no concern for patient safety or quality patient care, it's all about money. Safety issues are brushed under the rug. Stay way!

Do not allow your loved ones to have any valuables here such as eye glasses. Park Royal will not be held responsible. Even though they remove all personal belongings from patient they will allow them to keep their eye glasses. They state the patient signs a waiver upon entering. How can a mentally ill patient sign a waiver? Especially a 73 year old man in late stages of Alzheimer's. He can't complete a sentence how will he understand a waiver? And they never asked or informed his proxy. When he was released he no longer had ... read more
