I was there before Covid they told me that they fired a lot of employees. I have to say that it's like any mental health hospital. I've been in Lenox hill in nyc and a hospital in southern Connecticut and they are all the same. The medical community has got to address the problem with mental health. I have to say that the physician that I had was excellent but so many people were baker acted and they had their lawyers call on their behalf. I think they fired him and I felt bad because he got a bad rap.

Impossible to get information despite patient having signed medical information release form. I live out of town and it took 5 full days to get any information at all following my adult daughter's admittance. Called 3-10 (not exaggeration) times every day, always promised to have someone call back. They very often say they're busy working on discharges. I've heard this easily 15 times from different people over the last 5 days. Also, their phone system is often down, you select an option and get a fast busy signal, or som... read more

This place borders on incompetence and quite a bit of ignorance. Unit 3A was is my experience. For the most part, the nursing staff, and the technicians were pretty good in general. 3A is a detox floor, where are the people are hurting bad enough because of their addictions and issues, and they don't need to be herded like cattle nor spoken down to. It appeared that some of the staff Were usurping their authority in a very manipulative and unhealthy manner. The psychiatry staff there is almost nonexistent in the fact ... read more

I am so saddened, fearful and angry as I write this review. My 18 year old son who is a freshmen at college in Florida wrongfully had the FL Baker Act placed on him on Tuesday. My son has been struggling through the divorce of his parents after being married for 23 years. He suffers from ADHD and wasn't taking his medications as they are scheduled and that causes heightened anxiety and mood fluctuations. Some of the new found independence of being away at college and knowing he gets to make all of his own decisions. He ... read more

100% stay as far away from this facility as possible. They will mistreat, misdiagnose, withhold necessary medication & avoid any productive communication w the goal of wrongfully keeping people in their facility. To say that they are barbaric would be an understatement at best. Please please stay far away and keep your loved ones out of their sight. they should be investigated but better if shut down.

They really need new employees for inpatient. No compassion at all. I understand mental health may be a very stressful field to work in but my experience there was awful. Don't get me wrong not every employee was awful but a lot were. A man was having either a panic attack or something I am not sure what but they just kept screaming at him. Not very helpful. He even asked for an ambulance yet not even a doctor came to check on him. He collapsed and another patient caught him, thank god. Still employees just screamed... read more

If you have a loved one in house then good luck getting info to help with continuation of care! All release forms completed so no HIPAAviolations yet day crew and night crew point fingers on who should give info. Risk mgmt was a waste because nothing came of that conversation. You will never be able to speak to the physician treating your loved ones and nurses can't read orders. Charge nurse is the only one that can give info but good luck getting past the attitude problems. Unit 3A needs serious evaluation as procedures are... read more

This place is absolutely disgusting ! An Assisted Living facility (Highpoint) sent my 78 y/o father with Alzheimer's here for no reason at all , and the staff here is just rude as anything , no one answers the phone when you want to check in on anyone ! They argued with me about giving me info even though I'm his POA and these idiots had it on file .They told me that he won't get all of his daily meds ( he's a cardiac patient and needs them ) I'm so fed up with the way they treat patients and family members ! I did report th... read more

It's taken me a year to write this review because I was so traumatized by my experience at Park Royal. I was restrained and force injected with a medication I did not want to take after reading side effects of the medication for the elderly. I saw a psychiatrist the second night for five minutes to discuss future medications and he never identified me as to who my doctor would be. The medications we discussed and agreed on were not on my chart the following day. My social worker never introduced herself and the psychiatr... read more
