My name is Elizabeth Simpson, and at Park Royal Hospital I received the most asinine, cold, negligent care I have EVER experienced in ANY mental health facility. On 06/02/21 i was admitted for baker act due to severe depression, symptoms of PTSD and relapsing with chronic Anorexia nervousa. Lets start with the first 24 hours. They failed to document any of my food allergens which resulted in them feeding me those exact allergens. I threw up violently, passed out in my bathroom, hit my head, had cuts in my ears, bruises o... read more

My friend was here it's an awful place no supplies for her ADL s lost all dignity. Food bad. Worker not personable or helpful. You have to leave your purse with front desk person no lockers or security went to reclaim belongings and my second bag was misplaced. Finally found must wait for an escort to the floor. Then had to wait to get to go as there was no one to go with you. No one had time and questions ignored.

Business response:

Thank you for sharing this with us. Our goal is to deliver the highest-quality care with genuine compassion, and we're concerned to read this. While the guidelines set forth by HIPAA limit what we can share, we would like to gain a better understanding of the situation described. Please reach out to Amber.Hentz@ParkRoyalHospital.com.

I witnessed first hand neglect And abuse by a male patience And by a Nurse night shift worker to a patient in the next bed. Elder abuse ! Repeatedly teller she was stupid Putter her to bed soiled, not covering her up the list goes on & on.Let me list a few things but In actual fact I've compiled 4 pages of abuse and neglect. No medical band of identification to disperse meds or know who I was. Said I could leave anytime since I voluntarily admitted myself for the detox program . Wrong you are locked in until a dr signs you ... read more

I went to a hospital in Naples and ended up in Park Royal after the doctor told me a mistake was made and I would be released in the morning. I'm an older disabled women and they took me from Naples to Park Royal in the middle of the night. One night, with no doctor looking at me or a nurse, 911 was called for me. I was taken to a hospital, got an eye test and a head ct scan. Nobody told why they were called, who was paying, who made the medical decision - no answers. I was there for 5 days and never saw my doctor. Finally g... read more

Because of this place I continue to have nightmares, waking up thinking I'm still there in a panic. I don't even know where to begin. The group sessions are BULLSH*t, they do not help you in any way. For example, a "therapist" will hand out a piece of paper he/she printed from Wikipedia about how to help with your anxiety and/or depression, read off the paper, ask if you have any questions, then dismiss you from the group. The "therapist" (Bri) i had was BEYOND rude to me. I would ask her a question, she would shut me out, o... read more

This place is quite possibly the worst fucking place to send anybody who needs professional help. It was more like a nursing home mixed with an insane asylum, patients constantly pissing themselves or fighting each other until they literally ripped each other's hair out. As a patient, they are legally not allowed to hold you for more than 72 hours. They keep you longer for the insurance money. Not once did I ever see the doctor. I was discharged and they had lost ALL OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS. They lost my purse which includ... read more

I'm updating my review so others know what to expect if you are sent involuntarily to Park Royal. Upon intake all your personal affects will be taken. You will not be allowed to have allergy meds, eye drops, earplugs or Breathe Rite strips. You will be sharing a room with a complete stranger who may snore or talk in their sleep necessitating the earplugs. The bed is terribly uncomfortable as is the plastic pillow. I had one night of decent sleep in the seven nights I was there only because they drugged me up with three diffe... read more
