I recently spent three days of enforced confinement at this facility because I was frustrated about the pain and inability to breath following ankle surgery. It was miserable although there were some bright spots in the personnel department. I was forced to sign a voluntary admission paper in order to be released. If it is been explained to me that the difficulty in breathing is normal part of procedure it would have helped. Because I could not breathe well I asked my wife to take me to the hospital where I expressed that i... read more

Do not go here. do not send family here.send your worst enemy here. i was there, it is horrible. I told them the first day I was leaving. They baker acted me so they could keep me. Money making machine. I could not even get my heart meds. Woman was raped there, they covered it up.If you think they will humanely detox you, big surprise, you will get one buteanorpine a day. On the floor is water to drink, that's it. No nourishment that recovery requires. Serious NIGHTMARE.

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. I was told by the admissions nurse after I voluntarily checked in that "I just got off the phone with your provider and everything is covered. You have nothing to worry about" only to find out 5 days later that I had no mental health coverage and I would be getting a bill for approximately $ 4,000. I spoke to the discharge nurse about leaving at which time I was informed that I had been Baker Acted on Monday, this was Thursday and nobody informed me that this happened. Remember I WENT THERE VO... read more

Park Royal is not a hospital, but simply a holding tank for those of us who suffer from mental illnesses. It is actually more like a jail, whete you are locked out of your rooms even if you need to use the bathroom. This is done to force you to attend the few groups that are actually done. I think you call that Communism. They do NOT adhere to state mandated protocol for those who have been put there on a " Baker Act" state mandate says you can only be held for 72 hours, unless through the psychiatrist evaluation, which must... read more

This is not a treatment center it is an insurance scam. The 2 or 3 groups they have on their schedule rarely happen. Most days they only have one. They talk about negative thoughts and building your confidence and self esteem numerous times in the one group. The staff ignores you and treats you like you are invisible, and disrespect you constantly. How are you supposed to build yourself up if you are being treated like dirt constantly? The doctor after about 10 minutes of talking to be when I was barely coherent from my anx... read more

Royal Palm Hospital does not deserve ANY STARS. It's a deplorable institution. I was shamelessly treated. I had called a helpline simply to chat as I have no family living locally. Suddenly two Collier County police officers were ferociously banging on my front door. I had no explanation regarding being detained under the Baker Act, which I had no idea what that meant. They gave me only minutes to get my purse. I didn't know I'd be kept for days. I had only the clothes on my back. At the hospital, they took my cane ... read more

More like a prison than a care center. I was forced to come to park royal for very less than a good reason. During my 3 day stay, I was treated very poorly, despite the trauma I was enduring at the Time. Whenever I tried to emotionally open up to the doctor, he would write down false information about me, like he was just trying to find a way to rack up my bill. I was forced to needlessly participate in activities and groups that, instead of empowering me, left me feeling more depressed than before. I could write a book with... read more

0 star would have been more appropriate, if I could give it that. My 93 yr old WWll veteran husband had been baker acted on 1/1/19. He had lost 22 lbs when I visited him on 1/8/19. His dentures were disgustingly filthy, his tongue was black. He walked fine when he went in and now he can't even stand up. He has dementia so I called the sheriff's dept. when he had wanted to urinate & I pulled over (while driving to a friends house for dinner) so he go, and he would not get back in my car and I was afraid that he would walk int... read more

worst than repulsive! My husband was voluntarily admitted on floor 2 West,. My husband feels that patients are mentally and physically abused in your facility and we are extremely disappointed in this place. I called prior to going to the facility and inquired about the cost the gentleman told me it would be free with Medicare. Later, after sitting there and answering 3 1/2 hrs. of questions from the intake lady then they inform us that it would cost $1,300 plus. At that point we were desperate and needed to get him ... read more
