I have been using the Fairfax service for 12+ years. Today is the last day I am using it. The office manager Tayler overwrote the vet's care. She thought she knew more than our vet's decision on how to care for our little puppy. She said that the vet doesn't know their policy (after she had been with the office for many years) and the vet doesn't know the puppy needs to see a vet instead of technican for 2 weeks follow up vaccines. I visited Pender Veterinary Center in late February 2023. I was concerned with a dog bite my dog had received and a persistent cough and gagging behavior. They cleaned his wound and provided antibiotics and pain medication. They indicated the cough and gagging was benign. Now my dog is on his second day fighting for his life with pneumonia. Brushed off at Pender.

Dr. Hyatt and Kayla were great helping my puppy take out a drain from a recent injury. They got it out quickly and helped me understand the next steps for her recovery. River loves going to Pender and today was no different.

Why does Pender Veterinary Centre charge $145 for 6 doses of NexGard while Costco has the exact same for $80?
Care was good in general, but they are expensive and staff wasn't very clear on phone and in person about prices. Our dogs saw one doctors a few months ago, then went back for vaccines recently and saw another doctor. It seems you have to pay an $85 exam fee every time you see a new doctor, which was very surprising to me. And the physical exam took all of 3 minutes. I assumed they would work as a team.

Not happy with the way they handled my dog while trying to give him a shot. They had me hold him by the head even though I told them over 5 times he was going to bite, and sure enough he bit me and fractured my hand. I can’t believe such a “reputable” place would set an owner up to get bit instead of trying to find a safe way for all parties. To add insult to injury; they NEVER informed me how INSANELY expensive a routine eat cleaning would cost. Over $800 for an ear cleaning, allergy shot and blood work. They did absolutely... read more
Do not bring your pets here unless you’re ok with being taken advantage of financially. The only internet this place has is charging you the highest premium for the most basic of services. Would absolutely never go back. You can find better quality care for a fraction of the price elsewhere
