I will never bring my dogs to this facility again. I literally left this place in tears and sick to my stomach over the way they treated my dog and I. My dogs are like my children and I would never feel comfortable having these people look after them. I have a German Shepard who can bark a lot and be protective of me around large groups of people. If there was an option not to click ANY star, I would. We took our golden retriever here for a week long stay. We paid extra for the video so we were able to watch and him make sure he was doing well. We also paid extra for him to get the pumpkin yogurt, I doubt he even got it. EVERYTIME we checked the camera, ALL hours of the day, our dog would be sitting in the corner looking miserable. If any one has a golden, they know that this is not like their personality at ALL. My dog Chloe stayed at Pet Paradise in Charlotte from June 6, 2014 through June 14, 2014. I was impressed when I initially dropped off my dog. However, do not be deceived by the pristine outward appearance. It's behind the scenes that should scare you. When I picked up my dog, she was not herself. During her 8 day stay at Pet Paradise, Chloe lost 5 lbs. She came home and would not eat her food. Chloe had very bad diarreha. Additionally, Chloe came home limping. While the facility is great, the staff is certainly lacking. I took my 4 month old Shih Tzu for a grooming. I dropped him off around 7:30am just after opening and was assured my baby would be done well before 2 as the groomer arrived at 8 and we were one of the first. I fed him prior to dropping him off but he didn't finish so I bagged the rest. I bagged enough for lunch that he eats at 2, a bag of treats, 2 bowls and a toy. We usually board our dogs with our family veterinary practice. Last week, we decided to give Pet Paradise a try. We toured the facility beforehand and asked a lot of questions to make sure the environment was well suited for our babies. We had them with Pet Paradise for five nights before receiving that dreaded phone call that there had been an accident. Avoid this business!!!! Family dog was badly injured at Pet Paradise. The staff didn't even notice it. The wound was awful and was beginning to smell by the time the dog was picked up to go home. Vet bills were close to $1000 to treat the injury. Don't be fooled by the nice surroundings. These people are not paying attention. You are putting your pets in danger if you leave them here.
