Joe Kelly came out to provide the estimate. he was prompt and explained exactly what would be needed to be done. He provided an estimate and after comparing Polar Bear to a couple other vendors we chose to use them. They were very accomodating to my schedule and quickly got us worked into their installation plan. The installation team were right on time, did the job very quickly and efficiently, and made sure that everything was cleaned up and taken care of when they left. The scheduling staff was courteous and were able to schedule me for same day service when I stated that I had no heat at all. The technician was punctual, courteous, and explained everything he did. He found the problem right away. He explained exactly what was going on and told me how to care for the boiler in the future. If he were a dishonest person, he could have recommended costly repairs that weren't actually necessary. Instead he was a straight shooter, he didn't overcharge, and he made a repeat customer. When the temperature in DC rises the humidity is unbearable. Our tenant called to say that the a/c was blowing warm air. I immediately got in touch with the property management who provided me with the name and contact information for the company Polar Bear Air Conditioning and Heating Inc. They are a no nonsense company. They arrive on time and are clean and neat during the appointment. Their pricingare competitive, their prices are not the cheapest and not expensive,but you definitely get what you pay for and more. I am always very impressed with their service and they do a real professional job. They take pride in their work. They are usually here a couple hours and they keep busy to get the job done quickly.I now have them on my speed dial since they are my go to guys.

They have been terrific. I have been using them for about 6 years now.They are quick to respondto my callsand they have great advice to give me. Theycan get someone outtoyour home that dayyou called or the next day.I have always been pleased with their work. They have referred us to specialistsand other companies when itrequires more expertise, instead of just trying to figure out the problem themselves. If you have a relationship with them, they do give you a discount and priority over others.

This was the first timeI had used their service. The owner, Joe, came out togive an estimate first andseemed very knowledgeable about AC units and what was best for my home. Their prices were reasonable. Scheduling went well, after we agreed on the price, he had his workers come out within a week and finished the project a week and half after that.

Their prices are reasonable and they show up on time when they say they are going to. We have been using them for about 2 years now. They seem knowledgeable in their field. They don't try to make you buy anything that is expensive, they fix what needs to be fixed and the system is working fine.

We went with Joe Kelly and Polar Bear A/C after their bid came in at a reasonable level, but we also got a 20% February discount for the installation. We thought that his system design -- which is almost entirely on the roof was much more straightforward and less likely to fail than the others that would have been shoehorned into our tiny attic.
