Polaris MAXX Suction Pool Cleaner
I’ve been using my Polaris MAXX for a couple of months now and so far, I’m very happy with it. I have used the Kreepy Krauly for 30 years and, always thought that it did a great job - and it did. But, I believe the MAXX actually does better. I read some negative reviews that stated it wouldn’t pick up sticks and large debris, well, here’s a news flash - “none of them will”! The cleaner works very well and my pool stays very clean. This is a replacement for the Zodiac MX8. In comparison to the Zodiac MX8, the Polaris MAXX just doesn't perform as well as the Zodiac. The unit moves much slower than the MX8 and doesn't climb walls as well either. The suction intake underneath is very small in comparison to the MX8 therefore it takes longer to get the pool clean after heavy winds have come through blowing leaves into the pool. Works so good!! Love how it climbs the walls of my pool and was so easy to set up
Very easy setup, followed the easy steps. It was needing adjustment on my vacuum pump. Once I figured that the Polaris work great.
I watched a YouTube video before opening the package but extra info not needed except the reminder to protect the brushes / sweep mechanism. I can see that storing the unit on it's side when you take it out of the pool is a good idea. Went together easily, kinda hard to check the speed timing but otherwise it is easy to use and it works well.
Wish it was able to climb stairs but other than that excellent product!
