Well I had one prior to buying another one. I would say for about 6 years. Which I think is great considering the chemicals and weather endured each day. She had slowed down and would get tangled trying to go over the top of where she connected in the wall, stuck on the steps and couldn’t back up. This new one can climb the walls and steps with no problem… no worries on my end if I have to leave her for a few days… in addition I have a variable speed pump that questioned if she would work properly without a booster pump. I'm happy to have the Polaris TR36P Pressure Cleaner. It does the job, so we don't have to! Two things that could make it better: 1) I wish is that it wouldn't get "stuck" in the corners of the pool when the pump is on the low setting. 2) A part broke that caused the hose to be disconnected from the robot. It is under warranty, so it was fixed in a week, but seems like a design flaw. The robot keep cleaning away!

Have used product for many years. It most always does a fine job keeping pool nice and clean. I have one issue after 20 some years, you can not convince me that the back up time is right. It runs just right to place the unit hung up on out put tubing every time. In early spring with tubes stiffer with cold unit is permanently hung up
