Battery life is horrible. I make 10 labels and it flashes battery low!
Business response:
The Battery life for the BrotherPT45Mmachine will depend on various factors such asthe type and quality of the battery. We recommend using AAA Alkaline Batteries that are all the same brand, and within the use by date. Walmart sold me a used label maker for the price of a new one. Upon opening the box, the label maker had scratches, the print roll was mostly used, and there were mis-matched mostly-dead batteries in the label maker. And according to the memory in the devise, the last label printed had been for dog food.

I opened the package and never found any instruction for how to turn the label maker on. It lacks a numerical key pad so you have to share numbers with letters on the same keys and switch back an forth. I just carefully repacked the item and returned it to where I bought it I would compare it to a hammer with 5 working parts
waste to much of tape (lead)before the machine prints
Save yourself the hassle and get the LetraTag Dymo. It's much easier to operate, you have the option of using batteries or a power cord, the labels are much easier to peel apart,
I purchased one of these put brand new batteries in it and tried to print my first label, machine printed about half of the first letter and shut off. I turned it back on and tried this three times then unit flashed low battery and shut off. I took back to store and exchanged for new one. New worked for about 10 labels and then started doing the same thing, shutting off and flashing low battery. I didn't even bother taking the second unit back used for target practice instead. Brother if you are going to sell products to cus... read more
Low Battery..... I have made 4 labels and now it says "Low Battery" and it keeps shutting off. I am thinking about returning it. I dont have time to keep opening it and restarting. Very annoying. Other than that, I love the labels that I am able to make.

Nice to make labels but doesn't make big labels and not user friendly. Led screen small I'll stick to my dyno. More reliable
Business response:
Hi Mitchell, I understand the machine does not make big labels and not user friendly. The PT-45M is a personal handheld machine with maximum tape size of 12mm wide tapes. We will be glad to assist with your machine. Please contact us. <br />https://www.brother-usa.com/contact-us
The label peeler tool on the back of the machine does not work. It is possible to peel the back off the adhesive labels using the pad of your thumb, but itâs really a struggle. I will be returning this item.
