Impromptu visit during lunch! We’re so glad we stopped in. The service was great and the food was perfect. Those special flourishes, like bringing by surprise cookies at the table and having dark chocolate bark as a farewell at the exit? Brilliant. Such a nice touch. Ten out of ten. Manager, server, and host’s demeanor? Eleven out of ten. Thank you for a lovely all around experience.
It was Mother’s Day, my niece was singing at Carnegie hall and i wanted a nice restaurant nearby that could accommodate 9 of us. The Redeye did exactly that, even giving just a large round table for 9 in our own private room. We had a wonderful family dinner, the service was great. Our only negative was that 2 of the lasagne seafood specials came out cold in the middle, and by the time they returned with a warmed version, the rest of us had finished our meals. We had a short time frame for dinner but were graciously supported by the waitdtaff we had the damcing shrimp shared as the appetizer It was verynicely presented Coconut tempura batteted colossal shrimp were cooked perfectly They were laced on skewerson a globe with pineapple skewers and several sauces. Food was OK, but our server was efficient and cheerful. Dressing on Cobb salad was mediocre, English muffins with Eggs Benedict were not real muffins - too skinny! We had a nice lunch there and would go back because it is very convenient to Carnegie Hall!
