Redeye Grill is a consistently good spot, especially for pre-theater. With a 6:00 reservation and a 7:30 curtain, there was plenty of time for a pleasant, not at all 'rushed' meal. The staff here is extremely well 'drilled' when it comes to diners who are going on to a show, but still making you feel like you were dining and not simply having something to eat before your event. Each time we visit NYC we go to the Redeye Grill as our special dining experience. They never disappoint. From service to dessert, they do an outstanding job. It's an especially nice gesture that they bring fresh from the oven breads and cookies around to the tables.
The food was beautifully presented and was fine but very overpriced. The services was very cordial but very rushed. I would not return.

Great live music and service. Food was not that great.
The food and service were excellent. The staff is very warm and friendly. We are here before a concert at Carnegie Hall, which is across the street. I would highly recommend Redeye Grill.
Perfect spot pre-City Center. Menu had something for everyone and waitstaff was charming and accommodating .
