As always, the food was good and the atmosphere lively. The wait staff was courteous and affable, and even though everyone was very busy, they did not seemed rushed. My tuna dish was cooked perfectly and the guacamole appetizer for two out of this world. Everything is fresh and well-prepared. We eat here two to three times a year and recommend it highly to those we know who are in the city (for a concert at Carnegie Hall), the restaurant is basically across the street.
Had an awesome dinner with friends. Food was delicious and dessert too! Only thing I thought was a rip-off was the appetizer "the dancing shrimp." I know Redeye Grill is known as the home of the dancing shrimp but 4 shrimp for $20 when half the shrimp gets cut off when you take the head off....it's totally not worth it. I'd go with a sushi roll instead.
We were disappointed that they did not have specialty drinks. Pomegranate cosmopolitians. Service was mediocre. We had to ask for wine refills. We had to ask for them to clean up our table between courses. Anniversary surprise was a delight--enjoyed the bananas cream pie and Champagne. Enjoyed people watching. Overall was good.
Good but not great. Service is spotty at best. Waited a long time between finishing main course and being approached by waiter. Asked if we wanted dessert without presenting a dessert menu. Get rid of the dessert display tray and print a dessert menu.
we really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Not too rushed but not too slow. The enu had a nice variety of options for all tastes.
delicious as always...just can't get over that lobster cobb, although the last two times did seem to be less generous with the lobster. crunchy shrimp appetizer -- amazing. Sea bass and paella were hits too!
My boyfriend and I had a concert to attend at Carnegie Hall, and chose this restaurant based on reviews and its proximity to the theater. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were quickly shown to our table. The staff was very helpful and very eager to help us. We ordered the guacamole for two, which was very good, not spicy at all. I had the sea bass, which was cooked perfectly, and my boyfriend had the burger, which he liked very much. We shared the mixing bowl sundae. The staff were always available, so ... read more
Our party of five people had a wonderful dinner that lasted three hours. The service was wonderful, the wine list offered good opportunities at different levels, and the food was prepared well, attractively, and in good portion! A very nice find.
Dinner entree (mahi with wild mushrooms) was lovely, dessert was good but not fantastic (profiteroles). Wine suggestion was good.
