I used to love Redeye before it shut down and reopened. I came back and I found any number of things different. The menu was different. The seafood dishes were candidly foolish. The sushi dishes were both unnecessary and inauthentic. And over-all, it was not remotely a value. in addition, the service was horrendous. We were there for 20 minutes before we were able to even order a drink. That was symptomatic of every single time the server walked away from the table. NEVER BRING OUT THE ENTREE WHEN THE CUSTOMER IS STIIL EATING HIS APPETIZER. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS!
Got there at 6:30, seated right away but seated in the back where the tables were literally on top of each other. I had to squeeze in to get to sit down. Literally sitting with the table next to you. We've been dining at Redeye forever. It was always worth the splurge. Something changed since our last visit there. We were a party of 6 adults, and 2 of us couldn't even eat our meals. My hamburger was ordered medium and it arrived so overcooked it was inedible, on a cold hard bun. The fries tasted as though they were leftover from yesterday. Server was rude
Food used to be much better. Cobb Salad was lacking dressing and had no hard-boiled egg, as it previously did. Banana cream pie was almost as good as previously but not much custard. Very enjoyable atmosphere but the food as definitely declined.
