Food portions for prefix menu could not fill up a mouse.
I used to come here regularly in the early to mid-2000s and enjoyed the dining. I came this year during the restaurant week and was mostly disappointed across the board. The server seems unhappy to be there, the salmon main dish, and the sole, lacked seasoning. The slices of chocolate cake seemed like it was precut and plated because it was dry on the outside edges. Recently having moved to Central Park South, we've been hoping this would be our "go-to neighborhood favorite." After tonight's experience, we won't be going there again. Their so-called "Scallops in a Skillet House Specialty" at $43 has got to be the BIGGEST tourist rip-off for being the SKIMPIEST meal in The City. Nothing done for my husband’s birthday even though the hostess wished him a happy birthday as we were seated. Other tables around us got birthday desserts with sparklers & singing. The restaurant was never cool enough. Air conditioning was set to be too warm. We asked it to be adjusted, but never really seemed to get better.
Was seated immediately. Given water. Ordered drinks twice. Nothrig arrived. After 45 minutes got up and walked out
We arrived 7:20 for 7:30 reservation and were served our food at 9:10! And only after we asked our waiter three times and then the maitre de and only then did our meal arrive. Two successes and TWO VERY disappointing (very fishy tasting, dry) branzino. Our two out of tow guests and we, regulars, were disappointed and embarrassed!!
Host was disinterested and overall service not impressive. Food was okay and overpriced for its quality
Extremely slow service; 2 1/2 dining experience. Waitress barely came to check on our table.
Expensive very pricy food okay drinks okay as well
