Overall experience was just fair.
As always food and service excellent. BUT no bread? And our server explanation was unintelligible.
I bragged about the REG to my group as I always loved this restaurant. I was so embarrassed as Our waiter was inattentive and barely responsive. It was overpriced and the food was underwhelming.
Salads sat in the kitchen and came out warm. Server didn’t have much concern. Wasn’t provided a detailed receipt and it took a long time to get checked out. Sad because I was just there recently on Monday and everything was excellent.
Fine place to meet for large groups in midtown. Food was OK. The service was great at first and then trailed off.
I had dinner with a friend at Redeye Grill on a recent weekend trip to NYC. Our drinks were excellent. Service was poor and the food quality was poor as well. Neith was in line with the menu pricing. We got the dancing shrimp as an appetizer. It was ok but pretty bland even with the coconut seasoning. I wouldn't get it again. My friend ordered Brussels sprouts which came out charred and inedible. I had the crab cake with shrimp and it was delicious though a very small portion. My husband had the NY Strip steak, he's a steak lover and never uses ketchup. He was dipping this one in ketchup which tells you all you need to know, overpriced and not very good. It's a beautiful room and the service was very good but their prices are way out of line for what you get.

Do not get the "Dancing Shrimp." It's a gimmick; they were dry and tasteless. This dish is about weird, rather juvenile presentation. The restaurant is terribly overpriced -- that's the main problem. The ordinary food would be tolerable if only it cost half as much. This extends to the wine and liquor prices. I can only surmise that this restaurant subsists on tourists and out-of-towners attending a concert at Carnegie Hall (directly across the street) and performances at nearby theaters.
