Bad food and service.
On a Monday night the restaurant accepts reservations until 11:00pm. Our reservation was at 10:30pm, and it was not a minute after we were seated that the panicked waiter started to rush us, first saying that if we wanted anything shellfish, they were out of everything. I LOVE Fireman restaurants. My favorite is Trattoria Del Arte, but I love Bond 45 and Cafe Fiorello. My night at the newly renovated Redeye Grill was awful. It took 1 hr for me to get my salad and meal. Had a 6PM reservation because we were going to a Broadway show. We didn’t get anything to eat until 7. This is our first visit back to the Redeye Grill since its reopening. And it is the first time that we were not fully satisfied with our dining experience. While our server was most personable and knowledgeable, he was obviously over-assigned on the evening of our visit. And we do believe the bar staff was overwhelmed, as well. Service slow and uneven Warm water. I’ve requested no bread and butter them bread with no butter or olive oil Steak delicious but cold Chopped salad very good Chaotic wait staff Obnoxious manager who obviously went through the motions of pretending to care.
Food took forever to come out. Drinks were over priced. And service was poor.
Did not informed us that a 3 pm dinner was not a full menu type dinner. Dinners started st 5 pm. Only found out when we got there. Food was good but not exactly what we wanted. Would have liked to have dinner options.
It’s not the Redeye Grill of the past. Items on the menu where not available - very disappointed!
We have been to Redeye several times before and we were quite eager to check it out after it was closed for months of renovations. The service was so bad it was almost comical. Servers came by at least a half dozen times trying to serve us items that we didn't order. Our waiter was MIA which made getting our food and beverages in a timely manner impossible. The food quality was on par as usual. The outdoor dining option was very nice.
