Visited shop for haircut. I tried to explain to male barber (Brian) how I wanted my hair done. He started cutting on one side then quit...unbelievable. Took off apron and refused to finish. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. I really advise that this is not a good place for a haircut of any type or style. Brian's attitude is very bad, almost insulting...not sure why he chose this line of work...he is not very good at it...customers, beware.

Dear Charles, You are welcome back here if you wish. We will make it right for you in your next visit with us. Please make sure to read our policies before heading to our shop and also our blogs. They are to help our customers be familiarized with how things work at Gentleman’s BarberShop. We hope to see you soon, Charles! Cheers, Brian.
I have been coming to get a haircut from Brian for years. He always does a great job! Easy to book an appointment online. Retro's location is very convenient to downtown Round Rock.
Brian is a bit off.. You don't run into it in your first visit but it quickly escalates as you return. My first haircut was fine but his consistency fell off dramatically on subsequent visits, he makes you pay first which is weird. Now, there's a gal named Cat who just started there.. she seemed dope. If you're insistent on going to this establishment you may want to try her out instead.
You can't steal $12 Brian... Let me give some context... Yes, your door says open Mondays. You were not. Yes, your phone says no one will answer due to 'high call volume'. Yes, making an appt online was easy. Only 1 barber Yes, I 'accepted' all the rules you have for your establishment while booking my appt. Yes, I entered my credit card info 2 days before my haircut. No, I did not add tip for a service I hadn't received yet. Yes, I was charged for the haircut I had not yet received. Yes, you're playing loud EDM and have a f... read more

Resrev, If these comments were true, why did you book your appt with Retro Shop? Don't make sense.
I've been going to Brian for years, and when it comes to his barber skills they are some of the best I've seen. However, I'm giving him a one start review for everything else below and won't be coming back. First and foremost, on two separate occasions he made derogatory comments about women. Most recently, he was wanting to hire a secretary (for a barbershop of one), who he told me he planned on using as a sex object to ogle and flirt with for him and his clients. Second, his customer service is terrible. He is not reas... read more

Raymond, As you said, you've been coming to the shop for years. So you should have known by now that for any booking, cancellation or rescheduling of appt must be done online. The shop has a VERY FRIENDLY cancellation/rescheduling policy of at least 2 hours prior your appt to begin. You passed that grace period, and didn't show up, therefore you were charged for the appt that you missed. By booking up, you prevent other customers from accessing to our chairs, therefore preventing us from making a living. In business, it's ... read more
If I can put zero starts I would. I've been coming to the barber shop for a while, at first he did a great job but for some reason as time has gone by he's done a horrible job on his fades, and then makes excuses about my head shape is the reason why he can give me a proper fade. Honestly avoid this place there are much more quality barbers for honestly cheaper. Paying the same price for a hair cut you can get in Austin by a barber that will provide a higher quality cut.
Business response:
Luis, We are not a good fit, sorry and good luck.
Went to this barber shop 2 previous years for a birthday. No problem. Went in today for my appointment, Brian refused to cut my hair due to my weight, which was never a problem before. Only difference this time was that I had almost a year's worth of hair due to quarantining. Obviously just didn't want to do the job and used my weight as an excuse. Went to a barber shop nearby and my weight never came up, huh. I may not be thin, but if I were really that over weight, I would not be mobile and able to get to a barber shop. Th... read more
I've been getting my haircut from Brian, for over two years now. After moving to ATX from NYC I found it impossible to find a barber that new had to cut my hair the way I described. Brian succeeded, and his attention to detail, hospitality and and kindliness helped seal the deal. I now live on the Eastside of AtX and still make the trip to Round Rock! Thanks for all you do Brian! PD
I went to retro Barbershop today and was on time for my appointment and when I showed up it said it was closed my barber showed up late. I then asked for a haircut which he said he couldn't do which I understood so I described another haircut. He said he would be able to do it then it was almost as if he completely ignored what I said because he was to lazy.He gave me an entirely different thing than what I asked for. Terrible service do not recommend if you care about paying for what you want.
