The salad and the dessert courses were excellent and met our expectation of a Bartolotta restaurant; however, the spiny lobster in the Spaghetti all'Aragosta was tough and my husband's pasta was hard on the ends like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. Also, the bread was very good but doled out a piece at a time. We had started in on the breadsticks before our second piece of bread arrived. When you spend over $100 on a meal, you just expect better.
We love the restorant, the environment, food, service. We belive it is the best restaurant in town.
Went out for a family dinner, 6pm on a Sunday. All of the food was outstanding from appetizers to entree's to desserts. Service however was on the slow side, meals staggered a bit and it wasn't due to giving us our space. I'd have to rate service for that meal average at best. My daughter, who has worked in food industry, had the feeling it was a newer server and her male partner really didn't do much for our table. Overall I was still pleased with the meal and would/will go again.
The food was outstanding and the service excellent. Would go back for any special occasion.
Wine selection was a little too high end. While we enjoy a nice bottle of wine, there should be more offerings in the $30 range. Portions were quite small. We ordered appetizers, salads, dinner and dessert and still left hungry - and we are not big eaters nor large people. We don't mind spending money on a nice meal, but for $175 (for a couple) I shouldn't have to throw a frozen pizza in the oven when we get home.
Dinner was very good, as well as the appetizer.
This is one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. We have traveled in Italy several times and the food is as good as any we have had there.
Ristorante Bartolotta is a reliable high-quality dining experience. The menu has enough variety to suit most tastes, and preparation and service are consistently excellent.
Great service, felt very welcome even though we're not regulars. Food was excellent; offered great specials and servers were extremely helpful picking out the perfect wine.
